What a super, super book! It's not about picking the flowers and the caterer - this book is about how to communicate as a couple and really enter into the wedding process with a clear head. Using a number of personal anecdotes, the author covers a lot of really important subjects that come up -- unspoken assumptions that individuals bring to the relationship, how to deal with difficult family and friends during the planning process (super important), "crazy-making lies" that a couple may buy into. I picked up this book to hand off to my brother-in-law and soon-to-be sister-in-law along with the author's other books, HOW TO WRITE YOUR VOWS and HOW TO OFFICIATE A NON-DENOMINATIONAL WEDDING (I had purchased the earlier edition a few years ago - that, too, was excellent).

Like JP's other books, I found this to be invaluable to get through the planning of a wedding. So much hinges upon how to properly communicate and how to anticipate the "crazy" that will come your way throughout the wedding process. Such a great companion to "How to Write Your Vows". Inspirational, Practical, Sanity-saving! Thank you, JP Reynolds!
