“The soldiers didn’t want to use bullets in such close quarters. These men are strong and well trained in hand-to-hand combat. Yet Munwes didn’t stop even when they applied pressure to nerves, shattered a knee, and twisted an arm out of its joint,” said Colonel Weiss.

“So if they didn’t shoot him, how did they subdue Munwes?” I asked.

“They bashed in his head.”

This novel the first in the series is a fast paced easy reading look into an outbreak. I enjoyed it but it’s awfully short.

A confession of the cause of the zombie apocalypse. Interesting and thought provoking the process followed and the deception and betrayal to cover the truth.

I cannot say that I believe all of Dr. David Kohlberg's confessions, but I certainly believe the last part. I strongly doubt that government scientists or officials will tell society the complete truth. Somehow, I find it hard to believe that Israel would have accidentally let Dr. David Kohlberg communicate with a Russian agent. I find the start of this zombie story to be at least as likely as the beginning of most zombie stories. The story is short and has a sort of intellectual bent, so that I will read other stories in the series.

Like the explanation of how the Z outbreak began but would have liked less backstory on Dr Kohlberg and more information on the Russian side.
