Nail biting is a private problem.
You already know non-nail biters don't get why you bite you nails. How could they? You don't really know why you bite your nails. You do know that many of them look down upon you as weak or afflicted, are turned off, or in some cases pity you.
There is no 12-step program for nail biters
I do not care for attention to my problems, even ones that I have been able to conquer. You see celebrities talking about beating other afflictions like alcohol, drug abuse and sexual addiction. You never hear of a 12-step program for nail biting. It is a private embarrassing issue for nearly all afflicted. As such, we do our best to hide the problem, and that is why this book is written by Anonymous.
When I realized that potions, products, pills, hypnosis and other things might help me quit, but only for a short time, I decided to find a way to get better results. Through trial and error, I learned what my nail biting triggers were. Then I went about finding ways to recognize them and divert them, even long after I had stopped biting my nails and began to show progress.
You know what I mean. You get some material growing and you have to have will power and technique to keep from removing it in the weeks and months after you initially quit biting your nails. I put it all together and the results are in this book.
