“If rejection is like a disease, creeping up, then overcoming us and stopping us cold, then Tom Justin is the ‘Jonas Salk’ of rejection. His How To Take ‘No' For An Answer And Still Succeed program is the perfect vaccine for every kind of rejection life can throw at us." -- Jack Canfield Co-author -Chicken Soup For The Soul Series
"Tom Justin is a terrific story teller. His message will inspire teach and entertain you!" -- Larry King
"Tom Justin knows what he’s teaching and he does it well." --Og Mandino, author, The Greatest Salesman In The World
After interviewing some of the most innovative and successful people in the world, I realized that it wasn't just the ideas they brought forth, but the courage it took to do so. Many of them had to break through their fears of looking foolish, of being rejected, or ultimately, of failing.
The glue that holds innovators together is they know there is a constant flow of creative ideas. Or as Tom says in his book,
You might think this is just a book about overcoming the fears of failure and rejection, but I think Tom Justin has written a book about becoming super creative and the techniques to bust through whatever fears you might have to execute your ideas.
One of the many quotes I especially like in the book is, "If everyone approves of what you're doing and who you are, chances are you're not doing enough and you're not being who you really are."
I read this years ago when I first met Tom Justin. There are a lot of people who will tell you a positive attitude is a great to have. Tom shows you that with all of life's ups and downs, the things you thought were holding your back are just data. There are better ways.
Tom knows this from experience.
I've been lucky to spend time with Tom over the past few years and each meeting renews my conviction that he's a uniquely positive influence in my business. A lunch meeting with Tom is so much more than a pep talk, I walk away with actionable ideas and can't count how many times it's been profitable for my business. WOW!
If you haven't yet worked with Tom, the book is the place to start. Get it today, and when you meet Tom, tell him Warren Whitlock says hello.
I'm an actor and filmmaker. I work with actors in our workshop and through our production company. I have seen fear of rejection and fear of failure hold back many beautiful people from claiming their dreams.
This book will show them, and will show you, how to overcome this fear.
I especially like the phrase in the book, "Failing isn't the problem, quitting is."
This should be a mandatory reading for anyone considering or in the entertainment business.
The author's ideas about attitudes were clear and refreshing for someone who is new to sales and marketing. A lot of the techniques were relevant to other areas of personal life. I especially liked the story about magic beans and the reminder/explanation on brain capacity and potential.
This book is written for anyone, not just actors or those in the entertainment business as one might think after reading other reviews. I found this book to be motivating and practical. There are "exercises" in the book that if you do them, you will gain knowledge about yourself and help yourself get a little further along. If you are in sales, you will find this book helpful but as Tom will tell you, "everyone is selling something even if it is just themselves". So everyone is in sales and this book will help you to get more of what you want and less of what you don't want IF you read it and write the answers to the questions he asks. Overall, you can only be helped by reading this book!
I've spent over forty years, beginning as an actor, then acting coach, personal manager, and director producer.
In show business, it is inevitable on some level you will face rejection and would be surprised by some of the Big Names" who have had to face it. "Tom Justin calls them, "NO's."
There aren't many who are just "discovered" without hard work, study, and hardship. I especially liked one of Tom's quotes, "Failing isn't the problem, quitting is." Truer words have never been spoken.
I would urge anyone in the arts. who needs help in this area, to be sure and get this terrific book because it will definitely help you to become the success you want to be.
I met Tom Justin when I was in my early 30's ( a while back) and had the opportunity to work with him. He's straight forward with a sense of humor and real about what it takes to be successful no matter what you face. He has years of experience in an ever changing market and this is definitely worth reading!
Tom Justin's "How to Take No For An Answer And Still Succeed" is a must read for anyone who wants to realize more success in business or in their personal life. Tom's engaging style and refreshing perspective hits the mark.
