The only reason this book didn't garner 5 stars was the typos. I can forgive the occasional misspelling or grammatically iffy sentence, but those unnecessary apostrophes make me wince. It makes an otherwise enjoyable read a bit more prickly for me.
But don't let that hold you back from getting this book. There's a lot about tea, Tea and tea customs here, plus some delectable recipes. I'm going to try my hand at scones soon. Maybe once strawberries come back into season. :)
There are some minor errors in her cookbook, or at least missing information, as Fleming did not include information on how to preserve jam in her recipe for Strawberry Jam. She did include information on how to sterilize jars using the dishwasher but omitted the canning directions.
Her recipes do sound yummy, and they will give you ideas on what to make using US recipes, but her recipes are written using metric measurements. She did include the Fahrenheit temperature in her baking recipes so you will be able to make the recipes if you convert the metric to US measurements.
Here's a sample recipe showing what I mean:
For the eclairs
150g/51/2oz unsalted butter
225ml/8fl oz water
225g/8oz plain flour, plus extra for dusting
6 free-range eggs
300ml/1/2 pint double cream
For the sauce
110g/31/2oz caster sugar
100ml/31/2fl oz water
50g/2oz dark chocolate, broken into pieces
Recipe directions omitted from this review.
Other recipes you will find in her cookbook include:
Smoked Salmon Sandwiches
There is an interactive table of contents making navigation easy.

I'd have given it another star if the spelling and grammar was corrected.
