About the author

Ted Baer was born the son of two publishers and learned to use a printing press at fourteen. Ted worked in the motion picture industry as a dog trainer in the 80's. His dog, Tundra, performed in television, commercials and full-length films. Tundra won the highest award a dog could win in Hollywood called the PATSY Award. To his writing credit, Ted wrote and starred in a TV series called, "It's a Dog's Life!" The series was geared to helping twenty million hearing impaired dog owners. He also authored three books. Ted's first book, "Communicating with Your Dog", won a Dog Writer's Association of America Award for the best new book. The book has been recently updated and released in its third edition. Ted's other dog book, "How to Teach Your Old Dog New Tricks" is out of print. Baer’s dog training books have sold over 200,000 copies. Ted shares author credit on his third book, "That's Cool!", with his son Tucker Baer. It's a book of fun skills for people to help them raise their cool factor.
“Communicating with Your Dog” is based on the fact that dogs only want to please their masters. Training your dog is a communication challenge. This book will teach you to communicate with your dog through an easy-to-learn, twenty-word language. The special language in this book will allow your dog to understand you. You will develop training skills to use the twenty words consistently, with proper reinforcement. Your dog will develop a “vocabulary,” much as a young child does. You’ll have a happier dog and you’ll be more likely to take your best friend with you wherever you go.
"That’s Cool!” offers the perfect opportunity for everyone to raise their cool factor! Learn forty-nine “people” tricks that will impress your friends and dazzle your colleagues! The skills are intended to be casually integrated into your life and used to pump up your cool factor. Young and old alike can pick up these talents. Who wouldn’t want to be thought of as cool? This is the road map that can lead you there! Ted has a channel on YouTube: https://youtu.be/3AJCeqV2Fz0
