It landed at just the right time, as I was at an inflexion point in my career. This book's strength is that it does not give you any answers. Instead, I found myself reading a stream of questions, considerations and 'things to think about'. It wasn't about a huge explosive moment of total realisation but small silent conversations with myself. In that sense, it reminded me of works by Julian Stodd, though different in content and context.
Overall, an afternoon reading turned into a weekend of notes, highlighting, and a lot of whiteboard use. But most importantly, this culminated in a decision about my career I'd been putting off for a while.
In terms of this as an actual book, it's well written and flows well whilst not suffering if you walk away and come back later. It's efficient. There are no wasted words; this book is not full of tangents and anecdotes. All in all, a solid read and an effective nudge if you, too, have been putting off career decisions.
