"Writing the first draft of a scientific paper is like facing a giant wall of white. There is so much to do - motivation, a logical sequence of results, and the actual meaning of it all - that the task may seem impossible at first, especially during the first years of your PhD. Jari's book provides a comprehensive set of step-by-step rules and tips to create small building blocks of text and quickly transform your research into an actual draft. Following this book's advice is painless, fun even, and before you know it, you'll have one of the best papers you've ever written. If I could complain about anything, is that this book didn't already exist 10 years ago!"
- Gerardo Iñiguez, assistant professor, Central European University, Budapest, Hungary

Even if I have written many papers, I use it myself too, because it helps me to focus on the right things in each step of the writing process. Once I have a solid draft, I revise with the help of Schimel's Writing Science, which goes deeper into real editing.
Our duty as scientists is to make our story accessible to a large community of readers.
Hopefully, this book will be a stepping stone for my academic career.

I would suggest that the author removes "for PhD students" from the title. Also, please hire a designer for the front cover because it's awful (sorry).
If you're looking for a book that gives you a good overview and wastes no time, this is it. The book concludes with further reading recommendations if even greater depth and detail is required, but this should be more than enough for most readers.
