Beckmann’s prose sparkles with a self-deprecating, joyous honesty to create a unique blend of Bill Bryson and Alfred E. Neuman. Moving flawlessly from a hilarious flax paus to a poignant life lesson, the book is a celebration of taking what you are given and making it count … trust in your abilities … listen to your gut … and your heart … and don’t get so caught up that you forget to live the life you have been granted. One’s existence may not be perfect and it may not always make sense in the moment, but it is the only life you have, and if you don’t take it too seriously, chances are there are some amazing adventures awaiting.
Thank you, Dan Beckmann, for such a magnificent and compelling romp. With a wink and a “What, Me worry?” smile, I gladly and vehemently recommend this book. It may not change your life, but it will certainly brighten your outlook and lock a smile on your face. Bravo!!
Dan is witty and has a way with words that will leave you happy that you gave up a few TV shows for a story that will sometimes suggest material for Mr. Bean.
Honestly, Dan can spin a tale. At the end of Chapter 4, I laughed for more than 10 minutes without stopping. I laughed so hard I threw up a little. No lie!
Read this honest, funny, poignant, and endearing book. There is at least ONE thing in it that will make you look back on your own life and either laugh or thank GOD you weren't Dan Beckman.
Read the F-ing book!
