I'm not sure what causes the issue, but I used to use a Philips display and it worked with no issues with the HP P7-1534 desktop. It wasn't until I replaced it with an HP display that I had problems. About 90% of the time when the PC went to sleep or was shut down, the display would go off (I'd get a "no signal" message when there very well was a signal) and it took a lot of messing around to get it to come back on. The scary part was that restarting, shutting down and powering up, plugging and unplugging the display cables (both VGA and digital) had no effect. It was pretty much "plug and pray". Now, as I said, the PC is just left on all of the time to make sure I don't have to go through this all of the time.
Other than this not insubstantial issue with the display, this is actually a pretty good desktop for the price I paid for it. I run a few 3D games (Guild Wars 2 and Diablo 3) and they play well despite the rather lackluster video card. I can run high end software like Photoshop adequately using the video card (not great, but not so slow and kludgy that I get frustrated). Of course, it's great for mundane things like web surfing and basic utlilitarian programs. I'm very pleased with the rather ample RAM and large hard drive on such a low-end machine.Read more ›

This PC is great. I haven't had any problems with it. Windows 8 is blazing fast and if people don't like the windows 8 menu they should just get app to bypass it.Published 5 months ago by Juan Manuel Alvarez
The computer comes with Window's 8 which I don't like. I tried to install Window's 7 which I can tolerate but the machine
would not allow it.
