I was a little disappointed however that the version I received was a Chinese version and not US model as listed above. I even ordered a second watch in hopes of receiving the correct version. But it was also a Chinese version. I'm guessing that at the time of my purchase, all the jewels models are Chinese models. So buyers please be aware of call Huawei before you open your box. I decided to gamble to keep it even knowing I would not have the 1 year gaurantee.
As for the bling, I was a little worried it would be too much. But I swapped out the band for something a little more casual and by changing the face i can dress it up or down. I honestly think it's just the right amount of sparkle for a woman.
The size of the face is perfect. I have a small wrist but feel like this size is just right. If it we're smaller it would be hard to see the notifications and navigate. I bought my husband the Samsung gear s3 and tried it on and it was too big for my wrist. That 0.1inch made a huge difference.
I also played around with my husband's s3 and though it's smooth and has so many more features I love the simplicity of the Huawei and Android OS. It was so much easier to set up and use. I must say that battery life is not as good as the s3. I have it set up to receive Notifications and answer calls. I don't really use it to have a conversation as I have a Bluetooth headset for that. But I do use it to answer calls. So with just these features battery life lasts about almost 1.5 days.
In the office, my boss (who is a big fan and collector of watches) thought it was an awesome looking new watch (and this was in ambient mode.) He was surprised when he saw that it was a smart watch, and a little bit jealous that his apple watch didn't look this good. (Jealous again when I accepted a phone call on the watch.)
Watch faces and brightness make a HUGE difference in battery life. In the lowest brightness, active watch faces can last a full day, morning to night, then charge at night. Battery friendly faces (read that as simple black background faces without too much art) can last 24-36 hours (while watch is new of course) and can be worn at night and charged in the morning while getting ready for work (about an hour or so.) Turning off ambient mode let the watch go two days between charges (but just barely.) The lowest brightness works great indoors, but can be a challenge outside.
My first smart watch was a Sony smart watch (before Androidwear.) It's best feature was a reflective screen that worked outside. My goal was to get a map app on it for riding bike trails, but I never found a satisfactory app. Imagine my surprise when I tested the voice recognition to check the traffic from work to home and it showed me a map and suggested loading Google maps!
There's not much too not like about this watch.
I just called Huwawei for tech support and they told me that this watch, (after I gave them the serial number) was used and out of warranty in 2 months. Apparantly it was returned because of defects and then sold to me. Be careful!
The battery life is still pretty decent. I'm pretty sure it'll last me 2 days without charging.
I still have the same opinion about the charger but there's probably more options for a dock now.
It has been 5 months since I bought this watch and I'm completely attached to it.
I am a very uncoordinated person so I've hit it a few times against walls, desks, everything but it still looks good besides fingerprints. I do have a tiny tempered glass screen protector since I know how clumsy I am. The leather is peeling though. It bothers me but I'll deal with it for now.
It's pretty much just my phone made even more accessible to me. My phone speaker is actually broken so the watch is compensating for that and I often feel like a spy when I'm talking into my watch. Also, the side knob turns for no particular reason it's only meant as a home button pretty much.
I HATE the charger and I can't find a charging dock I like to hold it for me. The charger is flimsy and always slides off my table. I have to adjust the watch so that it could charge which bugs me the most.
