Received the box with seals already torn through so I had anticipated this wasn't going to be good from the start. Opened the box and all of the mounts were missing and the wrench. Terribly disappointed. I will update my review depending on how the replacement goes...

Update: after receiving my replacement fully intact, I could safely say that these lights are darn cool. I don't have previous experience with hue lights but these really add an immersion to PC gaming by illuminating what's on your screen via the light sync software feature. To get it working properly and finicky and took hours to be in a solid state of functioning. It would constantly stop the sync for no apparent reason and kind of resolved on its own. Overall I am happy with the bars, but the price could definitely be lower. Otherwise I'd love to add them to my entertainment center.

At first I was skeptical about purchasing these Hue lights due to a few negative reviews and especially the price. After I bought them I was worried that I wouldn’t be impressed but once I plugged it up the brightness blew me away! Once I synced these to my PC that’s where the real magic began! I’ve never experienced surround sound lighting before so seeing this blew my mind. It works so well and I’m beyond satisfied with my purchase. I went from being skeptical to a fan. I will definitely buy more of these along with other hue brands mainly for that light syncing experience. Also this is just with two of them. I can’t wait to see what an entire hue setup will look like! Very satisfied customer! 10/10 Would not mind a price drop though!

First and foremost simply stunning. This tech is amazing! If your buying or considering those cheap $80 strips with a camera hanging down the front of the tv.... Just stop! I did that and it doesn't compare at all. Saying that, this is expensive and requires alot of additional parts. You need the lights, hue bridge, hue sync, more lights.... It's alot! But in my mind well worth it. So cool how the exact colors flow into the wall behind the tv and how each color on each section is washed onto the wall. Amazing

Good Light Quality, but PC Sync Has Major Flaws

The light quality is good, as is the controlability of the lights using the mobile app. Sticking the lights to the back of an ultrawide monitor works quite well. Overall I like the lights. Unfortunately, the PC sync feature is useless for me. By installing the Philips Hue desktop app for Windows you can in theory have the lights automatically change colour and intensity to match what is showing on your monitor. In SDR Windows desktop mode this can work. However, what you really want to use it for is games. There are some huge deficiencies that you need to know before buying this:

1) Turning on Sync mode alters the colours of the image when playing a game in HDR. In effect, the sync feature of Philips Hue cannot be used in HDR games in Windows. There is no fix.

2) If you have an Nvidia graphics card and use GSync, turning on the Philips Hue Sync feature breaks GSync. There is no fix.

So essentially if you have a modern PC you can't game with the Sync feature.

We are currently using these under our twins cribs connected to a Hue Motion sensor, so the light doesnt disturb them when we are checking in on them at night.

Fully intend to move these behind the main TV once we don't need them under the cribs anymore.

Main reason we went with these is that long term we will use with our TV, but also because we needed the new Hue Hub as we still had V1 and the updates were no longer synced with our google home.

I got a full kit : 2 play lights + hue bulb and a bridge for C$200 (i guess)

The hue bulb is for floor lamp and I have fixed both play light next to my monitor, on the table. They work amazing, very responsive, great colours and brightness.

I really liked the hue sync functionality with the play lights, if you put it on high response, they might get a bit annoying, the low response sync works for me.

I have paired it with Alexa. Setup was very easy and Straightforward.

I wanted to lit my room a little and it did that job. Worth the money.
