Hugger Mugger "used" to the best name in bolsters! I "assumed" they were still making quality products - boy was I wrong. I returned this thing and will not buy from them again! I could always depend on them being the same size as those used in yoga class....not anymore! They've cheapened the product - it is smaller and shorter and does not give the same support. Very uncomfortable.

I'll admit I didn't want to spend this much money on a bolster. It felt very self-indulgent, but Aditi Shah said it was her favorite, and she's my favorite yoga instructor. I splurged and told myself if it wasn't worth it, I could just send it back. And then I tried it. While I can't compare it to other brands bc I've never tried anything else, this bolster was life changing. Supported Fish became enjoyable instead of awkward for me. In fact, all restorative poses are now much, much more comfortable thanks to this bolster. If someone stole my amazing bolster, I'd cry and then buy the exact same one again at an even higher cost if necessary bc that's how much I love this glorified firm pillow.

The yoga studio I go to uses these Hugger Mugger standard bolsters for yin and restorative yoga classes. I love these bolsters so much I decided to get my own set for home practice. The bolsters are wonderfully supportive and comfortable! After taking a beginning yoga class, I decided to purchase my own yoga props. The bolster is a very useful prop for the sitting positions. This bolster is firm, but does comfortably give and support. It is rectangular in shape. Approximately 5-6" inches thick, about 3' long. There is a handle on the end. I purchased the black, but there are many colorful options. I may even get out my silver oil paint sharpie and stencils and decorate them for fun. I always update my reviews if new info would be helpful. AND I DO NOT receive compensation for my reviews.

For yogis looking for a bolster, this is pretty much what you'd expect...the right size and firmness. Nice that it has handles on the ends for ease of movement/carrying.

Cover is VERY hard to remove. They need to add a bit more 'give' to the fabric, or else increase the length of zipper. I was afraid I'd rip the fabric...that's how much I had to fight to get the cover off. I also saw that, once I removed the cover, there's another interior cover that covers up the inside foam pillow/bolster. That interior cover was sort of 'sloppily' finished off on one of the ends.

I PAID MONEY to have this DRY CLEANED and even then, it's impossible to get the REMOVEABLE COVER back on. So why have a 'removeable cover' in the first place?

There is NO NEED for a bolster cover to be made of tough, stiff 'upholstery fabric'. They should make it with regular cotton/poly blend that can be truly WASHED.

Love it! Used these bolsters in my yoga class and love the size. As I got pregnant this was the best pregnancy pillow ever and much cheaper than buying one of the specialty ones. Post baby the pillow is great to use in bed behind the back while watching tv or sitting up instead of just being against a headboard. A lot of uses and well built!

I love this Hugger Mugger bolster. I have the plum color, and it's beautifully rich and goes well with my other yoga props and mats. I use this bolster on top of a block for a modified shavasana, for a supported reclined hero's pose, and to support me in a wide-legged seated forward bend. I like doing a few Yin postures before bed, and this bolster provides relaxing support and comfort to ease me into bedtime. It's the perfect firmness and size and feels well-made and durable. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in adding support and calm to their restorative and Yin yoga postures.

I shopped around before choosing this brand and glad I did, I bought the plum/purple, it's nice a hard, great 6" height, long enough, feels like it will last a lifetime, material does pick up a lot of lint and the cover can not be removed for washing, I use a blanket when needing to lay bare body parts on it, otherwise, this was a good purchase and highly recommended for yoggies.

Exactly as described and I love it! I am not a bolster expert because I am new to yoga. However, I bring this bolster to my yin classes and it supports me as need be during long restorative poses....also because I prefer using my own props.
