First off, I’m a fan of the show Jim makes (“Cartoonist Kayfabe”), so I’m definitely biased. But, while interested, I was also apprehensive about this book. I loved his cohost’s book “X-Men: Grand Design,” but I had grown up reading those books. How would a “new” (to me) character fare?

This serves as a perfect primer for anyone interested in getting a quick look into the long history of one of Marvel’s flagship characters. I don’t envy Jim’s job of distilling the long history of the Hulk into one condensed narrative, but he does an amazing job with it here. Recounting the major points of the Hulk’s journey into one, bite-sized book.
