Didn't really know what to expect coming in, but I started watching and couldn't stop until it was over. It's a really good documentary showing several different ways that augmentations and prosthetics help various people with the surprisingly capable tech we have today with some thoughts to chew on about where the technology is going in the future. If you aren't a fan of Deus Ex, the game acts more as a catalyst for commentary, and there's really no product placement or anything lame. The team who made this did a great job, and the production values are as good as the passion that went into making it.

A great documentary showing there is a divide and those working to bridge it.

Human by Design is a very informative documentary. I have an ICD in my chest because I have Ventricular Tachycardia and I sleep with a CPAP Machine because I also have Sleep Apnea. I would not survive very long without either in my life.
An ICD is more of an augmentation than a CPAP machine as the ICD is an implanted computer device that constantly read and regulates my heart, will shock me if my heart beat goes too fast for too long and communicates via wifi and internet with my doctor and his office staff at will.
A medical condition that necessitates such augmentations is certainly deadly and life changing at minimum. When we are either forced or given the choice to become physically augmented, it is always a difficult transition. This documentary definitely conveys that fact very well. It also highlights the people and innovators who are working very diligently to help bring the life saving and much needed help of the augmentations to those who need it and can not afford it. My ICD was over $200,000 by itself, not including all of the hospital and ICU bills that came along with it. I was blessed to have insurance which covered it all at the time. Now one must to wait a long time to get approved by the insurance company before a doctor can even put an ICD (and any other medically necessary device) inside a person. Some must wait as long as six months. It all comes down to money.
This documentary shows the wonderful people who need the augmentations and the people and companies working to make them available to them at a greatly reduced cost and waiting period. Thank you for making this documentary and for sharing the stories of those wonderful people.

The future not so far around the corner.

Very thought provoking. Is man and technology moving in that direction? I would certainly hope so. This documentary shows a moment in the time we live in and the possible direction we might go. Some will disagree with trans-human if they so choose to define it that way. I would ask the following, if I had the ability to cure an individual of cancer, should I. Ok, so I'll get off the soap box now. Back to the film. For a short film, it is well put together and was very interesting to watch. Prosthetic devices has been around for decades. This is a preview of the evolution of such devices. If I were a person with the need for such a device, I would want it to be as functional as possible.

We need more films on this subject.

It is encouraging to see biometrics is improving life for disabled people. The film looked desperate to find good content. I hope that is not the case and additional episodes will capture the audience as much as Human by Design has. Allow Luanne Dietz to be the catalyst that stirs the world. We need to focus our attention on our future needs. Thank you for this first film.

Worth the watch, but not groundbreaking like the games.

Excellent documentary, does a great job of covering the current progress of prosthetic technology, but didn't go as in depth add I was expecting, nor did it really press the "what is human" question more than to ask and then move on to the next example of a prosthetic wearer.

My hope for a new series

Very interesting look into new ways to help people who have disabilities over come issues by the use of "robotic" limbs an other cutting edge technologies. Posing ethical questions. I hope this becomes a series in Amazon.

A transitional theme from Deus Ex with a more realistic docudrama appeal to reality. Really looking forward to the next chapter and maybe just maybe this is reality. Future reality..

Even though this was based on an ad push for the new game. This was impressively well done.

It will be interesting how much life and fantasy continue to mirror.
