Fantastic read providing a great state-of-the-art survey of existential threats---such as transnational crime, super viruses, terrorism, climate change, chemical/biological weapons, and cyber attacks---and emerging technologies---including Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning, Augmented and Virtual Reality, 3D and 4D printing, quantum computing, gene editing, blockchain, and robotics---that will impact future international security, defense systems, and warfare. Other interesting topics covered include sociology of war, speed war, super soldiers, exoskeletons, future weapon systems, human-computer hybrids, information warfare, disinformation and computational propaganda, and deep fakes. Throughout, the book covers how America's chief adversaries---China, Russia, Iran and North Korea---are using these technologies and techniques to sow discord, overtake the United States, and dominate the world. Anyone interested in emerging technologies and their effects on the new world order will enjoy this book. I give it my highest recommendation.

This book was comprehensive and very well written. The book is ambitious and it covered so much that I feel like I increased my expertise. I would highly recommend it to military personnel, veterans and people who like to learn about the future. This book was written by a guy with a PhD but it was so well written, it was easy to understand and interesting at the same time. I really enjoyed it!

I found this to be a fascinating read on the connection between Us and machines and the data we gather.

We transmit and gather a ton of data on the daily as normal. In Warfare this is x100 or x1000 amplified.

The author does a great job of explaining the data needed, and how we interact with it and what may come.

Dr. Eastwood does a fantastic job of covering an incredibly diverse array of future warfare concepts. His writing style allows the reader to cover complex topics easily and understand a wide breadth of future warfare concepts so vast it’s not reasonable to list them all here. A must read for anyone in defense and national security.
