I've studied Huna for the last few years. I've studied Metaphysics for the last 38 years.

Not all this books contents are Huna, but it certainly gives the best explanation of and guidance for working with the three selves - and that is pure Huna.

Even with my decades of serious metaphysical studies, I learned loads from this book. I was familiar with many of its themes from my prior studies, but this author managed to shine focused light on what I knew already to reveal depths I had not yet grasped.

So, whether you are a student of the metaphysics of being human in the Universe or a student of Huna or both, this is a valuable text that will teach you things in one place that you will have to read very broadly to get from many other sources.

This book needs to be read and re-read. Sections will need to be reviewed and you will wonder how you missed the point you are now reading. It's just one of those book that has new things to offer as you develop in knowledge, wisdom and inner knowing.

The 4-star instead of a 5 is just because there is a lot of Theosophy and other metaphysics here. Which is a good thing in my estimation. I can't express how much help I've got from this book in terms of personal development and dealing with issues and reconnecting with my feeling self. I think it's unfortunate that the book calls itself Huna when it is so much more than that and - this is the problem - people looking only for Huna may be turned off from this book just because of that reason. Otherwise, it would get a 5-star from me.

Hope you like it too.

This is easily one of the easiest to get into and understand books on any metaphysical/spiritual subject I've ever read. It is filled with valuable insights and exercises for a wide variety of applications, from hypnosis (self- or otherwise) to Ho'oponopono to counseling to just everyday living. Everything is laid out in concise, one subject at a time chapters that are a joy to read and learn. Coming from a metaphysical, trans-personal hypnotherapy background, it was easy to relate to, and the way the author lays out the psychology of Huna alongside its spiritual aspects satisfied both my logical and emotional sides. And again, the practical applications I found in this for my hypnosis, pendulum, and life coaching work were life-changing and invaluable!

While the cover implies this book is heavily pendulum-focused, it is much broader in scope than that. You will need a pendulum to do all the exercises and begin communicating with your other selves (what psychology calls the subconscious and super-conscious minds, or the unihipili and aumakua in Huna). Plenty of chapters on pendulum use are provided, including the basics: how to construct your own and train it to give correct answers, along with various helpful, customizable charts and exercises. But there are even more chapters on the spiritual hows and whys of Huna that do not require anything except an open mind and willingness to change. If you're buying this strictly for its pendulum aspects, you won't be disappointed as it's an excellent introduction to that, too, but it's so much more . . .

Several appendices are included that expand on previous chapters, offer more exercises, and also provide a complete glossary of Huna terms (these Hawaiian words can take some getting used to for western ears, at least mine, so this was a big help).

As another reviewer pointed out, you can't just read the book and expect to be magically cured. It's up to you to do the exercises, and be open to change. If you are not ready and willing to do the work required to cleanse yourself of negative, restricting patterns in your life (patterns you chose to program in, by the way), then no book, no matter how wonderful, can help you. As with anything in life, it's up to you to help yourself and break free of of the cycle of negativity that's been holding you back. You are responsible for everything that happens to you because you are choosing how you react. No one else is "making" you angry or sad or anything else. You choose how you feel, so why choose to be negative? How is that going to help? Once you understand that, you can begin to forgive yourself, and with forgiveness, comes healing. And from healing, everything else flows.

I would suggest combining what you learn in this book with the new streamlined version of Ho'oponopono by Dr. Hew Len (free online) to create powerful healing, forgiveness, and a bounty of other positive changes in your life. While excellent in other respects, this book was written in the 1980s and has only a few pages on Ho'oponopono's older, more complicated version that requires at least two participants, including a Kahuna (which is what you become when you master Huna). For the new version, you only need yourself (regardless of whether you're a Kahuna or not) and about thirty seconds or less to self-heal/forgive. Yes, it's that simple, but you still have to believe it will work and practice it everyday to see the results.

If you are curious enough to seek out this book and are considering buying it then I'd highly recommend making the purchase. Just be forewarned that it is not an easy fix for emotional distress or self-destructive tendencies. It will probably take at least two reads before you can start incorporating the techniques into your life. Even for someone who is already very spiritual, it is going to take months of work, if not years to begin seeing long-term results.

I would recommend buying it and seeing if its for you, or discussing it with someone else who has read it.
