I'm a romance-suspense genre big fans, and I like to read paranormal/supernatural books sometimes. So, a combination of those two? Sure I'd try, and I didn't disappointed. The story flowed nicely. I like that the first non-werewolf brought as The One was a journalist, and an idealist at that. Who could be more dangerous in exposing their secret other than a well-known journalist? I also like that the suspense part was still big enough, with enough romance part and quite a big chunk of hot-sexy times. I like that the drama over the romance part was not dragging.
For the characters... I love Gage, an all alpha werewolf that had soft heart and good head, but I love Mac more. She's strong without being obnoxious, she's idealist without being naive, and she's a kick-ass in her own way. I always love a story with a heroine like this. A series that extremely worth to try.
This is a really cool read. I enjoyed it very much.
Gage and his team of wolves are Swat members and are Alphas, lol, Gage is their leader and to say that things get heated between them all is a understatement. Some of their antics are hilarious.
Max is the one reporter who thinks something is going on within the Swat team, but what? She stakes them out on a mission and goes head to head with Gage when he finds her trying to sneak into the building they are surrounding. I loved how Gage tormented Max in the beginning, lol
A old myth of them finding their one true soul mate just may come true, at least for Gage. What happens in between the pages is great.
Great fun read, Hot Alpha men and so much more.

She's an investigating journalist who isn't afraid of a challenge. MacKenzie Stone has a reputation for sticking her nose in places other journalists are afraid to go. She never flinches when things get rough. MacKenzie (Mac) is one exceptionally beautiful young woman with her long and thick dark hair and blue eyes. She's feisty and brave with lots of pluck and sass.
This was a wonderfully told romantic paranormal story of a nosy and beautiful journalist who sets out to uncover secrets of a SWAT team and instead falls head over heels for the SWAT commander. And Gage Dixon (as well as his team) hold huge secrets. But in the process of keeping MacKenzie from learning his packs' secrets, Gage ends up finding The One woman he clicks perfectly with. I liked this story...I liked hearing Gages' POV, giving us insight to what he was thinking and feeling. This story held all the aspects detrimental to a suspenseful paranormal romance...ie; nail biting excitement, dramatic suspense behind a great story....and romantic interludes tossed into the mix without overpowering the plot line. I only wished there were more descriptive details of our protagonists...especially for MacKenzie Stone. I never got a "feel" for her...what she looked like etc. We never learn the age of either H/h (which would've been nice). Still, I'm glad I picked this one up and I'd gladly refer it to anyone interested in this genre.
I did think it was overly long. In fact, three separate times I thought I’d reached the end, only to have the plot pick back up again. I also thought there was too much sex…or not so much sex, as not all of it is on page, but the characters have too much sex. The amount of time dedicated to setting up the scenes contributes to the too long book, I think.
But again, it’s worth a read. I didn’t consider my time wasted.
