Hunted 1 - 3, (previously known as Bilby) - This is a story for older children. I agree with the review by Brydie W., she's correct in her assessment of the story. The author is good at bringing out emotions, and her stories are sad and heartwarming (I've read three so far). While this is not for my age group, the story is worth reading. Ms. Allan is a good storyteller and weaves interesting stories.
The Sea Tips - What a story! The emotions this tale brings out. A well written, sad but heartwarming story with a twisting plot and diverse characters. This little story reminded me of Big Fish and the Bible to name a few items. This is the second story I've read by the author and I look forward to reading more of her work.
My Mother's Hands - Heartwarming. A sad, but true story, that we should all read and pay attention, especially the younger of us. You'll regret it later in life, even though it happens to parents before we die. This is the first story I've read by the author and I look forward to reading more of her work.
Cassie's Coven - A delightful surprise. I found this to be an interesting little story about four 10-year-old girls discovering friendship and the possibilities of magic. They also solve a crime and rescue animals. The adults are pretty interesting with how they respond to their children. This is a good book for all ages.
Cassie's Coven 2 - The Grimoire has a sense of humor and it's a problem solver; a role model/parent actually. It has rules that must be followed or pay the consequences.
Yes, CC2 is a children's book, but it is so interesting and fun. The girls are fun, inquisitive characters and their parents, Pia's great-granny and the other support characters are perfect for their roles. The girls can be silly, too; they're ten, it's allowed. Pia's great-gran spills the beans on the history of Witchborough -- I'm sorry for the spoiler. If you remember Nancy and all the Hollister kids, you'll love these four lil girls with their touch of magic.
Cassie's Coven 3 - With this book, there's a growth in the story, the characters and the plotlines; they're more substantial, more mature. While still a kid's book, this is a fun, interesting story for all ages. There are new characters: good and bad; human and magical; that will surprise the reader, but makes for a good story.
