Assembly: Very easy, maybe 20 minutes. You need a Philips head screwdriver. That's it.
Looks: I was very satisfied. Not oil-rubbed bronze, but probably "as advertised" is correct.
Sound: Honestly, I didn't find it loud. 100% different than a ceiling fan which is very quiet if that is what you are expecting. Yes, it is a small blade making a lot of revolutions so it will make "noise".
Output: Probably where I was most disappointed. On High, it lost its effectiveness between 8-10 feet. I was really hoping it would push more CFM. Definitely won't work very well in an outdoor surrounding where you're not going to be up right against it.
For in-house use, a ceiling fan is much more quiet and effective. If that's not an option and you need a floor fan, I probably would not recommend. If you need something that is pretty and blows a little bit of air and you're okay with a bit of wind noise, then this ones for you!
This makes cleaning the fan blades a pain in the … ! Many manufactures use 2 lever clips that make it VERY simple to open the cage to clean the fan blades. I am partially disabled so every few weeks I need to ask someone to help me.
ALSO, the tilt of the motor must be adjusted with a very small screwdriver instead of an adjustment lever...most inconvenient.
I am keeping it simply because it would be a project to take this fan "kit" apart and try to repack it to ship back.
AMAZON, or better yet HUNTER, should give greater detail information on the fan/cleaning cage assembly/disassembly and tilt function.
I expect better of both Amazon and Hunter.
I read all of the reviews before hand so I knew what I was getting - yes, it is noisy and the fan speeds are all about the same speed (not much variability there), there is some plastic pieces (small ones) - but did I mention how great it looks??!! The noise doesn't bother us because it is in the same room as the TV, so we aren't looking for quiet in that room. We have several other fans, some that are much quieter since they have a 5-blade plastic fan (Rowenta) vs. the 3-blade metal fan (that looks terrific) that this one has. My husband likes that the controls are switch operated vs. electronic controls.
I am so happy with the appearance of this fan and the fact that I no longer have to stare at an ugly fan on prominent display in our great room. I think the appearance far out weighs any of the negatives.
