It hums and remote is spotty
Remote doesn’t work ever time. I have to flip the wall switch on and off to get it to work at lest one or two times a week. Doesn’t work with a smart phone. It hums. I sent the first one back and the replacement still hums. The lights are not as bright as I was hoping. At lest not as a single source for a Mater bedroom. I don’t recommend this fan. I use like Hunter fans now I try to avoid them.

This is a very nice fan. Easy to install and the remote works with it. The only bad thing is it was a pain to connect to WiFi for HomeKit commands. After 10 months it just stopped connecting to WiFi at all. So all and all, I paid all this extra money to get a WiFi HomeKit fan and it doesn’t work. The service people were clueless.

The wireless remote is black and an odd shape and would like out of place mounted on the wall so we threw it in storage. We control the fan with our phones via Homekit, which works great, but miss having a wall control. Called Hunter tech support and they were super helpful. Had it professionally installed via Amazon Home Services which went well. The fan is super quiet, not a peep, and will probably buy more if the price drops.

Overall this fan was easy to install. I did have one minor issue after the install with a clicking sound as the fan rotated. After taking off the top housing I noticed that a zip tie was rubbing. After cutting this zip tie shorter the fan operates very quietly. Hunter should do a better job with quality control. Most people would have taken the fan down and sent it back.

The fan seems to be well made. Installation is very straight forward and can be done by one person. The fan motor is not completely silent as I had hoped as the fan is installed in my bedroom. The noise isn't too bad, just a hum that increases with fan speed. I'll live with it. My biggest complaint is the interface to Alexa, or rather the lack thereof. One of the reasons I purchased this particular fan was that it is advertised as being compatible with Alexa. Yes, there is a Hunter Fan skill. The light and fan does get discovered as a device. But neither manual or voice controls via Alexa work. Alexa thinks they toggle on and off, but nothing happens at the unit. The Apple Homekit and iOS Hunter app both work perfectly. Just not Alexa. Very disappointed by this.

Edit: I installed the fan on a Sunday and Alexa would not work with it. On Monday I tried again for about an hour, and then wrote my reviews of how poorly the integration to Alexa was. Monday night when I told Alexa to turn on the "Bedroom", low and behold the Hunter Fan Light came on. It is now working as expected, a little slow in response to commands, but at least they work.

Wanted to wait a few months before writing a review. Now that we have had this fan for a while, we absolutely love this fan. Built well, everything was balanced out of the box. Installation is as easy as any other ceiling fan. It runs extremely quite and pushes a lot of air. Love the WiFi capabilities and the connection to Alexa. We have yet to use the switch that comes with it. Between Alexa and iPhone app we never need the switch. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the iPhone app was a bit clunky when setting it up. Something happened were the setup failed. I had to remove and reinstall the app. Once that was done, the second time around it set up fine. Still not sure what happened but it has been running flawlessly since.

My HomeKit setup has smart switches, dimmers, thermostat, and more. This was probably the smoothest setup of all. And the implementation is great too. Fan speed and light level can be set in percentages using voice control (Siri). I haven’t had to use the included remote even once.

The fan looks great, sounds great (barely more than the sound of air moving), and gives plenty of air too. Install was easy and secure.

I bought two Hunter Wifi fans because it was supposed to work with Alexa. They do not, if you have ios14. The simple connect app is simply terrible and their customer support is worse. They refuse to answer questions about Wifi fans, promise a call back from an expert and never call. Their email alias for troubleshooting is also a black hole. After weeks of trying to get an explanation, one of the support reps admitted that iOS 14 broke the app and said it was on Apple to make the fix. If you just want a fan, it works fine, but there are cheaper options. If you want a smart fan, don’t bother.
