Bought as a gift for my cousin who's insane about HxH and enjoys collecting dvds (as everyone should!) My family and I had good time with this movie which automatically makes it good ;) HxH is one of our fave anime ever, and this movie was a fun treat. I ate it up like a dog. The blu ray quality is fantastic, and has both the english and japanese audios!

now im no movie connoisseur, but this movie made no sense. (there's obviously gonna be spoilers in this review so you've been warned)

my first issue is: the art style. probably the least important part of the review but it still makes me mad something about it just makes me mad.

2: the story. it's supposed to take place after season 3, but they have their special nen abilities. (gon's jun-ken-rock, kil's yoyo)

3: kurta clan massacre. omokage (previously #4 in the phantom troupe) was the one who killed kurapikas clan. this is revealed in the middle of the movie, yet kurapika still hates the phantom troupe? hisoka told him about omokage, and he doesn't hate him??

4: the end of the movie. in the end, they show chimera ants, kite, and bisky?? all of which havnt been shown yet, leaving the viewer confused as to who they are if they havnt seen the whole series.

final thoughts: it was an okay film. the scenes where nobunaga had his hair down tho 😳😳 they also showed legends, pakunoda and uvogin. illumis outfit was GORGEOUS!! hisokas outfit was not it, though. thanks for reading my bad opinions. ⚫👅⚫

I had heard terrible things about this movie from other HxH fans, but personally, I really liked it! HxH is my favorite anime, and one of my favorite shows in general of all time, and while this movie is definitely not as good as the TV show, it was still really fun to have another adventure back in this world with these characters. It was also really interesting to learn a little more about Kurapika’s backstory. Just don’t get your hopes up too high, and this can be a super fun film to watch!

Wer die Serie kennt und liebt, sollte auch die beiden Kinofilme in seiner Sammlung haben.
Vorkenntnisse zum Kinofilm sind nicht zwingend notwendig, da vor dem Film eine kurze Einleitung eingespielt wird, die eigentlich
alles Wichtige erklärt. Wer aber die Charaktere und deren Beziehung untereinander etwas tiefgründiger verstehen will,
und nicht erstmal doof dasitzen will wenn Killua Gon mal wieder zu lange anstarrt, sollte sich davor schon die Serie ansehen.

Die Special Edition:
Die Special Edition hat ein schickes Book-Design und beinhaltet die Blue-Ray, die DVD, ein Booklet mit
Charakterbeschreibungen und einer kurzen Inhaltsangabe des Films.

Story:
Die Geschichte handelt vom Jungen Kurapika der letzte überlebende seines Kurta-Klans, welche für ihre seltenen leuchtend
roten Augen begehrt sind. Die Phantom Brigade (Illusionisten) war damals für das Massaker an seinem Klan verantwortlich
und Kurapika will nun seinen Klan rächen.
In einem Dorf trifft er eines Tages auf einen totgeglaubten Freund seines Klans welcher ihm dann kurzerhand das Augenlicht
stiehlt.
Zusammen mit seinen Freunden Leorio, Gon und Killua startet Kurapika in ein neues spannendes Abenteuer.

Ton:
Die deutschen Synchronisierung ist meiner Meinung nach bis auf Kurapika nicht so toll geworden. Killuas deutsche Stimme
ist eine Spur zu weiblich, doch einige Szenen, vor allem wenn Killua Stress bekommt oder weint sind wiederum recht gut
geworden. Gons deutsche Synchronstimme erinnert mich leider eher an die Biene Maja oder an die Heidi. und Leorio hat zu
wenig Temperament und Kraft in seiner Stimme.
Wer die Orginalfernsehserie kennt ist eben die japanischen Synchronsprecher gewöhnt. Zum Glück beinhaltet die DVD/Blue Ray
sowohl die deutsche Vertonung sowie die orginal Japanische Tonspur mit deutschen Untertiteln. Somit kann sich jeder seine
favorisierte Tonspur selber auswählen.

Übersetzung:
Leider sind ein paar Textstellen falsch übersetzt worden und verlieren an anderen Stellen durch die Übersetzung an
Bedeutung.
Zum Beispiel sagt Gon: "Wenn Killua bei mir ist kann ich es schaffen." Daraufhin sagt Killua: "Mit Gon an meiner Seite
kann ich es schaffen." Übersetzt worden ist: "Zusammen können wir es schaffen." In diesem Fall wären Kurapika und Leorio dann
auch gemeint gewesen, was aber falsch wäre, weil nur Gon und Killua das Nen Schild zur Ablenkung aktivieren.

Bild:
Keine Beanstandung, das Bild ist scharf, die Animationen sind wie vom Studio Madhouse gewöhnt sehr schön gemacht.

Fazit:
Ein schöner Film, den ich gerne jedem weiterempfehle der Anime mag, und für Hunter x Hunter Fans sowieso ein muss!
Freue mich schon riesig auf den zweiten Film!

Edit: ein paar kleine Rechtschreibfehler ausgebessert und Leorio richtig geschrieben ^^

Story: Ohne hier groß ins Detail zu gehen: Die Geschichte ist durchaus unterhaltsam, "nett" trifft es wohl am besten. Sie basiert auf einer Nebengeschichte, die der Autor ursprünglich für den Manga einplante, allerdings nicht mehr in vollem Umfang unterbrachte. Dies führt zu kleineren Ungereimtheiten bezüglich einiger Charaktere bzw. deren Fähigkeiten, ist jedoch nicht weiter tragisch.

Bild/Ton: Hier gibt es nichts zu beanstanden. Die Farben sind knackig und das Bild ist scharf. Der Sound ist, sowohl in der Synchronfassung als auch in der Orignalversion, klar.

Synchronisation/Untertitel: All jene, die nicht mit den Originalsprechern vertraut sind, sollten hier wenig zu beanstanden haben. Für Kenner des Originals sind vor allem die Stimmen von Gon und Killua (Peggy Pollow & Laurine Betz) sicherlich gewöhnungsbedürftig. Meiner Meinung nach fangen sie die Mentalität der Charaktere nur unzureichend ein. Hervorzuheben ist jedoch die Leistung der Sprecher von Kurapika (Ann Vielhaben), Hisoka (Bastian Sierich) und insbesondere Leorio (Jens-Uwe Bogadtke), die allesamt gute Arbeit abgeliefert haben.

Die Untertitel sind gut lesbar. Die Übersetzung weist minimale inhaltliche Fehler auf, ist ansonsten aber solide.

Ausstattung: Das Booklet enthält Charakterbeschreibungen und eine kurze Einführung in die Welt von Hunter X Hunter und ist, wie die Hülle selbst, äußerst wertig verarbeitet. Die Extras auf der Disk sind durchaus sehenswert, hätten aber vielleicht etwas umfassender sein können.

Alles in allem ein gelungenes Gesamtpaket, das Vorfreude auf den zweiten Film macht und die Hoffnung auf eine deutsche Synchronfassung des Anime von 2011 aufrechterhält.
