SSSCAT Cat Training Aid
Your cat is starting to really take advantage of his rule of the house. You can’t keep him from hopping up on the counters, scratching your furniture, and don’t even get started on how you attempt to decorate at the holidays. He has ruined far too many drapes and plants for you to let this continue. The harmless, odorless SSSCat spray will keep him away from your danger zones and both of you will return to a lifestyle of peace. SSSCat is a device with a motion sensor that automatically emits a burst of spray to repel your cat from an area in your home. It can be adjusted to spray both up and down. It’s painless, stainless, and requires no training.
How it works:
Ssscat’s automatic spray system combines spray technology with a motion detector to protect indoor areas and objects within a one meter radius. When your pet is within the one meter radius, the system will detect their movement and send out a burst of spray in their direction. Since the spray is harmless, odorless, and stainless, you won’t have to worry about damaging either your pet or your home. Because the spray catches your cat off guard, he will turn away and learn to avoid that area. Ssscat has been effective in keeping cats off counters, preventing them from scratching or climbing on furniture and away from holiday decorations. You may also use it to protect your drapes and other fragile items.
- SssCat helps you set boundaries for your pet.
- It is designed to be easy-to-use and set up.
- Adjustable motion detector angles between the detection of the motion and spray from side-to-side.
- You can also adjust the direction of the spray up and down.
- Ssscat repels cats and other small animals up to one meter away.
- The scentless spray is enough to annoy him, but your nose won’t notice.
- Ssscat can also be used for other small animals such as rabbits, dogs, and ferrets.
- Uses 4 AAA batteries (not included).

I'm going to add some more info now that we've had the Ssscat for awhile. I took it down from 5 stars to 4 mostly because it doesn't always work. As you can see in the video with the second cat. I thought it was because of the batteries but after testing with fresh/more powerful batteries I found that it simply works when it wants too.
The reason I still give it 4 stars is because it's put fear into my cats and simply placing in an area I don't want them to be seems to be enough to keep them away.
So all in all, it's done what we need it to do even if it doesn't always work the way it's supposed to, however it is a bit overpriced for something that doesn't always work.
A couple pieces of advice: (1) You will need 4 AAA batteries per unit. (2) The spray is good for a few months to a year, depending on how many times you forget the unit is there and spray yourself. At that point, you can either buy the refill can or just rely on the sound alarm. (3) The alarm usually goes off once after you arm the unit, while it's "warming up." To avoid wasting a spray, I set it to "sound only" until the warm up alarm is over, then turn it to the "sound + spray" setting.
MALE CAT: Jumped on counter. Set off sensor. Jumped really high and backwards--landing on the ground. Has not tried to get on the counter since. It's been 2 weeks...and he is completely okay with never trying again.
FEMALE CAT: Jumped on counter. Set off sensor. Jumped really high and backwards--landing on the ground. Circled to the dining room side. Tried again and set it off. She stayed off the counter for the rest of the evening but tried again that night (heard her fall around 3 AM). 2 weeks later and she is surveying the counter to see the best path to avoid the spray (I move its location every day). She has even recruited the boy cat as her minion. He keeps me busy with his adorableness so I can't always catch her mid-crime. She doesn't do anything up there; I think she is trying just to prove a point (that she CAN beat me).
Okay, Girly...challenge accepted. I have now ordered 3 more ssscats and will create a Mission Impossible maze in hopes to outsmart you. You will NOT be successful. Victory WILL be mine. Bwahahaha.
Wait...she is following what I am typing..intently. I think my plan may have been thwarted. I swear her purr sounds like a muffled mwrrrarahaha. I fear I may have underestimated her prowess. This should be interesting (and by "interesting" I mean "Ogawd we are all going to die").
When the primary training is accomplished, remove batteries from the detector and disconnect the air can. Otherwise the can will leak to empty within a few weeks. Removing batteries may or may not increase longevity of the electronics - I've owned 5 of these and 3 stopped working within 12 months of purchase. The first symptom is a loss of sensitivity to cat-sized movement, so it goes off when it sees people, but ignores the cat. Another failure symptom is a long delay between detection and spray, so the cat can run through the beam without getting sprayed. Be prepared to send the unit back for warrranty replacement. If the SpraySentry slows down or does not detect cat sized intruders, send it back for replacement immediately. Keep returning it until you get one that works.
Frankly, I would give it a 5 if the electronics lasted longer. Given that motion detector patio lights last years, there's not much excuse for these SpraySentrys to fail so quickly. The technology is proven, so they should last forever under occasional use. (I've seen videos where a cat owner hooked a countertop blender to a motion detector patio light controller aimed at the countertop and used the noise of the blender to discourage cat visitations.Read more ›

Doesn't work, plain and simple - meaning that it does not detect motion and thus doesn't spray when it should. Read morePublished 3 days ago by Paige
