Any-who, I’m absolutely thrilled to be reading Juliana’s newest book and excited to hear there’ll be more adventures from them in the Willow Harbor series next year! I enjoyed Tessa’s and Landon’s story, I was happy that Tessa knew about the supernatural world and that her father was a hunter. That’s always refreshing in my eyes, a human simple girl that knows about them.
But she doesn’t want to be a simple girl anymore, at least not after finding out about the demon killing her estrange father, all she wants is revenge. Though I kind of wish the need for revenge was a lot stronger within her, I wish all her anger towards her father pushing her out of his life because of what he did for a living and the fact that a demon took her father completely away from her, would have boiled up. Maybe give the revenge part more depth, but then that might have made the book darker haha.
I liked that it was light, but because of that I feel like the revenge part of the story was a bit slow, in a since. By that, throughout the book Tessa was trying to show Landon there’s more to life than just killing evil supernatural beings. Which I fully agree with, however the moment Tessa yells at Landon later on the book that they need to go over the clues, work to finding out where the demon is, things go back to normal for her and it’s like she forgot she was on a mission. And not only that, if she wasn’t always telling Landon to relax and smell the roses they probably no doubt would have figured out where the demon was and how to kill it sooner. So, I’m a bit torn on how I feel about the balance in the book. Especially since it was literally right under their noses the whole time when it came to finding out what kind of demon it was.
Other than that, I enjoyed being in this world! I loved being a part of this supernatural town, which I can’t wait to be a part of again as I will be continuing the rest of the series! Hunters Revenge was a fun story, with quite a few supernatural action that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat! I know I would have devoured this sooner if I started it on my weekend and not at the beginning of my work week instead haha.

Landon is a young man who lost his parents when he was a teenager, he was adopted by Tessa’s dad. Landon has lived in Willow Harbor for years, so he knows the town and its mysteries well.
Tessa and Landon have known each other for years but they don’t get along because she feels her dad loves him more. One sad day, Landon has to deliver the worst news to Tessa. What is going to happen when this normal girl enters to Willow Harbor hand to hand with Landon?
Juliana did an amazing job with characters construction. Tessa is such interesting heroine with so many layers: she is a girl abandoned by her dad so she resents that, she has a nice relationship with her mom, half-sisters and stepfather, although she feels something is missing. But she isn’t a victim or a sad woman. At all. She enjoys her life, goes to college and practices martial arts, pretty well I need to say.
When she has to deal with her dad’s death by herself she has an impressive development. (By the way, this one of the reasons I love Juliana’s books despite the genre. Her female characters are my favorites ever).
Landon… oh sweet lord… what can I say about him? He’s charming, badass, protector, full of mysteries, and handsome. #BookBoyfriend alert, of course.
The storyline is marvelous. I enjoyed discovering the fantastic world Juliana created in Willow Harbor, the weapons, places, powers or abilities, neighbors and secondary characters.
But… wait… do you still here? I really don’t know what else I need to say besides go and purchase your own copy of Hunter’s Revenge and discover these and more.
If you want to know strange neighbors, find hidden desires and enjoy the small town charm, you need a ticket to Willow Harbor Series and Hunter’s Revenge by Juliana Haygert is a must stop in that journey.
This is my first book I have ever read from this author. She does a great job. The storyline between Landon and Tessa is just wonderful. Tessa is the daughter of a hunter, Landon is his partner. Tessa's father is killed by a powerful demon, and Landon goes to tell Tessa in person. She comes back to Willow Harbor with Landon for a reading of the will, and her father's funeral. What happens after the funeral is full of twists and turns, and a wonderful love/hate relationship. Must read book!
