I also enjoyed the relational aspect of Izzy and her children. I divorced years ago and have not lived with my kids for some time. Like Izzy, I often feel I do not get the time with them that they need.
As for the online dating: I have a non-fiction book on the subject coming out in about a month. I really, really wish I could say Mrs. Peresta was embellishing the truth about the myriad of disingenuous, creepy guys Izzy meets online. But I cannot. One of the reasons I wrote my book was because so many women begged me to write a primer (of sorts) for the men who cannot seem to understand an appropriate approach to women they meet on the web. I think guys looking to date online could benefit from reading The Hunting.
Near the end of the story, Izzy says "I don't think the online thing was the enemy. I think somewhere along the line my whole approach to life got screwed up." I believe that's true also. There are good people and bad people everywhere, even on internet dating sites.
I'm looking forward to Kerry Peresta's next offering.
She did a great job in showing that parent's need to be available to their children to prevent problems.
I look forward to her next book.
