What do you do when you are being threatened by a ghost and not knowing why? Fight back.
Two people drawn together and not knowing why is just part of the suspense. A romantic tale of two people who are lost emotionally, and are brought together. The pull is so overwhelming, one wants to protect, while the other can't seem to function without the other.
I thought it was well written. All grammar was corrected. I was given this book for a honest re-review. I do apologize for not writing this sooner.
Would I recommend this book? Yes I would and do. It is worth the read.I hope she writes the other one soon.
A year after the murder of her husband, Lilly Lawson is still plagued by nightmares that have pushed her back into her adolescent habit of cutting. Even worse, she starts to see and communicate with her husband’s ghost. When she goes to the sentencing for the man convicted of the crime, she finds herself captivated by the killer's brother.
Daemon Kelly has returned to their small town after a long absence to care for his elderly mother. He also has to face the whispers regarding his brother's crime and his own alcoholism. When he comes face to face with the widow of the man his brother killed, he feels an intense need to protect her, but from what, he doesn't know.
When the two fall in love it is anything but easy. Aaron Lawson is intent on coming back and claiming what is his. And the closer Lily and Daemon get to Aaron's ghost, the more they unravel the truth about why he died in the first place. Piecing together bits of ancient Celtic lore, can they find a way to help Aaron's soul find rest?
This Story touched me in so many profound ways . Ms Boucher is able to put into words.. feelings... looks... and surroundings that will enlighten you, make you cry, clench your teeth, have your mind looking around itself in wonder...Can you love people whose family member was involved in the death of a loved one? I can tell you YES YOU CAN!! Love is a crazy thing isn't it? In this book she touches on so many sensitive subjects... How a loved one feels in the court room facing the killer of your most precious love... she hit those emotions spot on.. I had to stop and get my bearings back.. the process of grieving, the not wanting to face life.. and the renewal of faith and love.. and how far would you go to protect that love? add in some magic... a ghost who can't let go and some evil and you have an incredible journey of discovery in the purest form .. The book is fast paced and VERY well written .. I HIGHLY recommend it and give this book 5 protective necklaces ....
Although there are many plot twists and turns; they all fit in place at the end of the story. The book has an extremely well balanced plot line. You cannot guess ahead as to what will happen next. The character development is well thought out and very believable.
I love how Becca has taken ghost stories, local folk lore, and actual haunted places (Friend’s Cemetery) from around New England and has incorporated them it into her book.
Hunting the Moon is Lilly and Daemon’s story. The story is set in present day small town Massachusetts. A year after the murder of her husband; Lilly Lawson is not sleep well because of what she thinks are nightmares involving her dead husband. Nightmares; which are in fact nightly visits from her husband who has morphed into a vengeful and very dangerous ghost.
At court during her husband’s murder’s sentencing; Lilly meats and becomes involved with the brother of the man who killed her husband – Daemon Kelly. As Lilly and Daemon end up spending more time with each other; the physical attraction between them intensifies, and the hauntings become much more frequent and deadly.
This is a book I toughly enjoyed reading and I can’t wait for Midnight Raven (The Moon Series - book 2)
I highly recommend it!
Final thought: It's a good read, especially for the paranormal romantic!
