About the Author
Karey grew up in Idaho, Oregon, Missouri and Utah. Through the years, she’s been a student, a teacher, a secretary, a clothing designer and seamstress, a wedding cake maker, a crafter, a scrapbooker, a cook, a housekeeper (alright, this skill she’s still working on) a homework helper (until they pass her in math, somewhere around the third grade), and a calm and ladylike fan at her children's sporting events. Nothing makes her happier than being with family and friends, eating good food and sharing good conversation and a few laughs. When she’s with witty and clever people, she could stay there for hours. She loves to travel and see new places. Someday she hopes to take research trips to Norway, Iceland, Scotland, Denmark (while the tulips are in bloom), China, and New Zealand. She and her husband are the parents of four children that make them look good. She loves salmon and marzipan (not necessarily together) and getting letters. With that out of the way, I loved the book. I laughed and I cried as I read about Charlotte's past dating history, her wonderful friends and family, and her job. I was thoroughly engrossed in her story and totally thought I knew who she would end up with. Until it just ended! But I have the rest of the story, so stay tuned.
I guess I have to say that I highly recommend this book to anyone who doesn't mind buying the next installment. I also recommend it to the smart ones who spotted the series on sale.
Thankfully, Charlotte has a great support system in her twin brother Will, and their best friend Angus. She also has well meaning friends who are always trying to set her up. After all, even if she and said guy break up, he'll marry someone else within the year...
When Charlotte starts dating Kyle Aldsworth she thinks she has finally found "the one." Will he be the guy to stick around through "I do", or should she start shopping for his wedding gift now?
I loved Charlotte! I could relate to her, and felt really sorry for her and all of her dating mishaps. Through it all she remained positive and optimistic. I couldn't see how one, let alone several guys had been serious about her, and left her. Kyle was a great guy too. I liked their relationship, but because of the plot I was always waiting for the other shoe to fall.
The Husband maker is the first book in a series, so I will say that Charlotte's story is not done yet. While I wish that everything could be wrapped up all happy and tied with a bow right now, I'm also glad that I'll be able to spend more time with Charlotte, her family, and friends!
