Daniel, aka Dead-Eye Dan, has left bounty hunting behind. He's worked for Jonah Hawkins for three years, until he can save enough to buy some land and start his own business. He's attracted to Marietta Hawkins, but her father has a no involvement policy when it comes to his ranch hands and his daughter. She's attracted to Dan,so when she finds out his time is up at Hawk's Haven ranch she sets in motion a plan, The Husband Maneuver, to get his attention before he leaves.
I loved Dan and Etta's story. It's a novella, and a short one at that, but it wasn't rushed and felt complete. Their feelings for each other were totally believable. This is a fun read. I enjoy this author. She writes great characters and great stories.
