From the manufacturer
Husky 87247 Brute Electric Jack
We call our HB4500 power jack the Brute for good reasons. It has the brute strength to lift your trailer tongue safely and with much less effort, and the brute toughness to do it time after time, year after year.
A 6-inch adjustable drop down leg provides extended adjustment for a variety of terrains. The Brute also features a full 2-1/4-inch main tube, which is designed to fit most A-frame couplers. The Brute’s motor is powerful and efficient, providing a full 4,500 pounds of continuous lifting capacity, which is an excellent benefit when setting up weight distribution hitches. In addition, Brute’s moderate gear reduction produces a fast travel speed of 10 inches in as little as is 38 seconds, with a full range of 18 inches.
Lift efficiency is also aided by the Brute’s ball screw design, which reduces friction with ball bearings that roll through the threads on the Brute’s shaft and nut, which means the motor works less, draws less amperage, creates less heat and produces less noise. The ball screw design greatly increases motor and jack life.
Brute’s SmartStop technology senses the limits of the jack’s range and shuts down the motor without the hard mechanical stop common with other units. Plus, a 3-Sided LED Light System illuminates the entire working area, including the hitch head and weight distribution brackets on the A-frame.
Husky Brute Jack With Remote Features
Built-in connector storage bracket. Protects trailer’s cord end from weather.
3-Sided LED Light System
Illuminates entire working area with side lights directed towards WD brackets
Operate lights and jack independently.
Brute was the first jack in its class to offer a ball screw for easy rolling friction, compared to the sliding friction of standard power jacks. Rolling friction means the motor works less, draws less amperage, creates less heat, reduces noise and increases motor and jack life.

Very easy mechanical installation, it took me about 30 minutes, and that included putting blocks under the tongue, finding the right wrench and cleaning up afterwards.
Electrical hookup was a little more time-consuming..but that might be my fault for wanting everything "just so".
The power wire was rather short to route it neatly along the frame, and there is no ground wire.,, they rely on metal-to-metal contact with the frame to provide the ground, and they even include some serrated washers to cut through the paint to give a contact,
I've never been impressed with that idea, so I added my own ground wire back to the battery box
The kit also included a resettable breaker, but it's not connected or attached, so you get to mount it and wire it in whatever way suits you... I fixed a small plastic project box to the side of my battery box, and mounted the breaker in that.
Lifts my 3600 pound travel trailer without breaking a sweat, and it's certainly going to save my aging back !
The lighting is just "ok"... I"m thinking I might look into replacing at least one with something brighter and more directional but I'll wait until I've used it "in the filed" a few times before I decide on that.
They do however sound horrible when I use them (think coffee grinder times 10 or nails on a chalk board times 3)
The Hubby says their working correctly. I had electric jacks on several living quarter horse trailers, they never were that loud and my Brother has a huge Montana trailer and his jacks aren't that loud either but the jacks on those were all inside the trailers where we mounted ours on the outside.
As I said before, our trailer is high. These have legs that are adjustable and we haven't ran into any problems with uneven ground or clearance issues.
One thing I dislike about the jacks is the dropdown leg. It uses a pin and you have to make sure the leg is lined up with the holes to get it back in the right spot. It would be really nice for it to be spring loaded, Like the horse trailers.. pull the pin, step on the foot to put down, let the pin go and raise, the pin automatically goes in and the trailer raises.
These need more finesse.
No more hand cranking the tongue up and down, no more tired arms, no more bending over at the waist straining a bad back. I don't even have to be the one hitching it up now! My wife can hitch up with this jack. We just walk up and push a button while the the other one watches for the trailer to come level or the ball to clear or the truck to rise enough. Simple. Saves time too because we get things done much quicker.
It was an added bonus that I found the foot is adjustable for about six inches which also allows me to get my trailer level in my sloped driveway without having to use multiple blocks unter the it. Sweet!
I've only had it out a couple of times and used it several times in the driveway when doing maintenance so the verdict is not out just yet. In a year I will gladly raise my standing to five stars but for now it gets a big thumbs up but four stars until we work it some more.
