Also, my saw is very dependent on the fast idle feature. That fast idle should be set whenever I try to start it.
To sum up, this saw takes some finness to get it going, but it cuts like a raped ape, and really has quite alot of power for its size, I havent run into anything it would'nt cut, and I usually get out cutting about at least once a week. I really like it now. This is my 2nd Husky, the other is a 450 and that saw is absolutely flawless and anyone could start it, but it also cost about twice as much, and I like having a little lighter saw for limbing, so the 240 is my backup.
I will try to update after a couple more months, but so far, so good. Hope I don't have to eat my words :)
UPDATE: 9/18/13 It's been about a month now, and this 240 is awesome. It starts great, now that I figured out it was me and not the saws fault. Ever since I started checking the stop switch, it has worked perfectly.
UPDATE: 2/11/15 This is my go to saw, it is awesome. YOU MUST LEARN HOW TO START IT. Also, if you are still having problems, check you spark plug gap. Must be 20 thousands.
Being that this saw has such high compression, it's sometimes hard to hear the POP On a cold start. Another tip I learned is if it doesn't POP after 3 pulls with the choke on, flip the choke off, (fast idle) and pull again a couple times.
