I read all the horror stories on other reviews - "it won't start - ran 30 minutes and quit - arrived damaged (is that Husky's fault?) - buy a Stihl, Husqvarna is crap. All I can base my review on is my 10 years of experience of running a small 16 inch Husky into the ground. I am talking 40 acres of Pinion & Ponderosa pines, skirted and felled when necessary. That's why I bout another, if I get 10 years of service, I will be satisfied.
If you want a Stihl, but one, they are good saws, and expensive, and like Husky's require maintenance.
A couple suggestions based on my decade using this style saw. Fresh "regular "gas gasoline W/fuel preservative (Stabil is good) - ignore the internet octane experts that say "premium" - 2 cycle engines are not high compression V8-'s. Drain tank back into clean container to be stored.
No need for fancy bar oil - Walmart is fine. Never, ever let chain/bar run dry. If chain chatters, its loose or dry, stop and take care of it. If you are doing light duty homeowner trimming, the stock chain is fine. If you do what I do, (occasionally felling a 20 inch 80ft pine, get the aggressive chisel point chain available on Amazon, it is money well spent. Keep in mind its not a safety (anti-kickback) chain and can kick, if you do not respect it.
Follow the starting directions exactly. (they come on a big Husky orange sheet of paper (indicating the mfg. thinks its important) I had to turn my factory set idle up about 1/4 turn to achieve a steady idle, possibly because I live at 6,000+ feet altitude. 2-cycles are somewhat notorious for starting & idle issues. Maintenance is the key to avoid them.
Keep in mind this is a small 16 inch light duty - $200 saw. Learn how to do basic service, or you will pay far more in repairs than the saw cost. New plug set to proper gap every year. Keep the chain sharp (Oregon makes a nice file W/a sharpening guide) learn how the chain cuts so you can spot an issue early. Keep the chain tight to the bar, remember it loosens as it runs. Keep the air filter clean, the engine has to breathe. All these issue, gas, oil, chain, bar, plug, clean fresh fuel, etc. are common to all chainsaw (yes even Stihl). The saw works good for me, probably because I have considerable experience using a V-similar one and know its idiosyncrasies. If you order it, take it out of the box, put in gas & bar oil and fire it up and never do anything else, well, good luck.
Edit for day 2... Since so many low ratings, I wanted to see how it started the next day... pulled the starter cord 2 times and it was running good... it always helps to let the saw run a minute or two before expecting it to run normal.
