I'm a big fan of Neil, who is an industry EXPERT, but this book was very disappointing. Hustle is rhetorical storytelling, and is so self-absorbed that they suggest new language about the "types of hustle" ("outside/upside? really?) and appealing to millennials to "get their hustle on" and to "buck the establishment that holds you down". It's a very hard read if you were expecting any guidance, because there is none other than the obvious, generic start-your-own-business-with-your-hustle. I found myself re-reading chapters trying to identify what really was the learning point, and in many chapters there wasn't any take-away other than having now learned about another past experience that the authors had coming up in business.
This, sadly, left me wondering if this book was simply an ego-stroke for the authors to be able to say they are published.
Whether you're a millennial trying to "figure things out" or you're a seasoned professional that's realizing that the times have forever changed, then this is the book for you here headed in 2017.
Pay specific attention to the "POP: Personal Opportunity Portfolio" sections where the authors dive deep into the 4 ares of focus that complete the hustle mindset...
And while some might say that "hustle" is just another buzz word, these guys understand that what hustle really equates to is the ability to create abundance of opportunity.
Thanks for sharing this work with the world guys! :)

However, the book delves more into the "hustle". Patel and company refreshes readers on the path to success and does not go into deep philosophy but into practical discussion of the pain you need to sacrifice, the extra mile you have to make and the habits to develop in order to reach our goals. Hustle is not ashamed to say straightforwardly that three fundamental forces are needed to fully own your dreams: money, meaning and momentum.
What did I get out of this book? Inspiration to continue my hustle, to put forward my hustle dreams, to recognize my small accomplishments on my dreams, some affirmation that I am on the right track. I feel that I am not alone in this "impossible dream". Hustle is a brand new way of making your dreams into a reality by dipping our toes into experience.
There is nothing as keen as being ahead of the curve, caliing your own shots, and being in charge. This book is full of suggestions on how to make that your reality. In other words, living YOUR hustle.
And that's a great thing!
I love a line from this book - "Don't Rent Your Dreams, Own Them" - don't sit on the sidelines waiting for your ship to come in. Take action. It's a central theme in this book and so important for anyone that wants a rewarding life.
After reading Hustle I am charged up to plunge into projects I have been sitting on, waiting for the best time to start. But there is no best time other than now. Thanks Neil, Patrick, and Jonas. Let's hustle!
So many people have the energy and skill-sets, but just don't know where to start. This book gives several frameworks to help you choose for yourself what kind of opportunities to pursue.
One of my favorite sections was the Fourfold Path: Outside/Inside, Inside/Upside, Inside/Outside, Outside/Upside
I also liked all of the stories the book had with real life examples on how a lot of famous early entrepreneurs got started.
