5.0 out of 5 stars Great for truck tires
By Damon on September 9, 2017
Setup was easy, took a few tries to get the adjustment bars sizes correctly for my tires but they rest nicely now. I weighed these snow tires at ~70 lbs each before ordering. This would max out many other wall mount tire racks. Glad I ordered this one, feels totally solid and secure.

There were some scratches on the finish but let's be honest... I'm not struttin' this rack around town, it's not in the elements inside my garage and it's used to rack my seasonal tires. Still 5 stars all the way.

The bars they use are nice and hefty by the way. The welds and build quality are solid all around.

The tires I have up there right now are 265 70 17 winter wheels and tires and my 275 65 18 all season should fit up there just the same.

You can see that I mounted mine really high. To make it easier to get the 70 lb wheels and tires up that high I used a cheap block and tackle. [[ASIN:B001BXJVNC Super-Handy Heavy-Duty 4,000 LB Capacity Rope Hoist]] -- it's a really cheap solution, the pulleys have more friction than I'd like... again, not the best but I do this twice a year. Just make sure you use a way over powered hook properly anchored to a beam on the ceiling. The one I'm using (from Home Depot) is rated for 375 lbs... not designed for overhead lifting but the job didn't stress the setup at all. In fact my 5 yo daughter was able to hoist it.

Finally my wheels and tires are up and out of the way!! Thank you! ...looks cool too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Modified this as a floor tire rack (LoLoft?)
By Ted on September 29, 2017
I wanted a floor level tire storage rack and could not find one. Saw this and I thought ... "I could modify that to work as a floor rack." Before I get into the modification details, I should say that this product arrived in perfect condition and appears to be a sturdy unit. Now for the modification (see pics) ... Inverted the rack (such that mounting tabs were horizontal) and attached the tabs to two 2x4 skids. Additionally, added a 1x1 piece between the now upper area of the rack (to add some extra structural rigidity). Final outcome: Looks good (imho), appears functional, and is very solid (e.g., not at all flimsy). Works for me!

3.0 out of 5 stars Five stars for product; Two stars for scratches!
By E. Iverson on March 10, 2017
Disappointed in the amount of paint scratched off this thing just by it sitting in its packaging! I purposefully bought this in "new" condition (read: not an Amazon Warehouse Deal ) to hopefully evade the possibility of a marred finish as mentioned in so many prior reviews.
Nope.
Now if I were a stickler for perfection, this thing would be on its way back to Amazon; but I'm more pragmatic, and truly believe there isn't any chance that I would receive another one in any better condition (in fact it could be worse), so I hung it up and put my four tires on it. I'll try to touch up the missing paint with some rustoleum I have in hopefully the same shade of red. Since I hung it 7 feet off the floor, it's not as noticeable, but this chipping of an otherwise nice paint job is an avoidable issue!
Overall, it's a decent product, and the red matches the color scheme in my garage. But the manufacturer needs to include a lot more padding around the red painted bars! At least something more substantial than the tissue-paper-thin "foam wrapping"; my steak from the local Kroger has a thicker foam in its tray than these poor things had for transportation! There were three chunks of styrofoam floating around in the box, and I think they were originally intended to hold the 3 rods in place.
Nope.
They probably came loose from their moorings as soon as the box was set upright on its side.
The install is very straightforward, and if you have an impact driver, it will make this one-man job very even easier.
Get your sockets ready: The bolts for the wall mounting are 1/2", and the bolts that hold the rods in place are 9/16".
I put four 235/55zr17 tires on this rack, and spaced the rods in the first and last slots so they would be seated in between them. I am looking for any signs of the rods bulging from the weight, and will adjust them inward if that happens. I had originally put the rear rod in the next-to-last slot, but the tire didn't rest against the back wall rod, and it seemed to be balanced too far forward in the rack. I'm including pictures for your reference.
All in all, I give it 5 stars for its ability to hold a set of tires on the wall in a stylish fashion, and two stars for the penny-pinching, laughable attempt at securing these parts for transit, for a grand total of three stars overall.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad Experience
By RM on May 2, 2015
I bought two of these, both came with missing pieces and the quality of the product is very poor, a joint was bent and the welding was poor. The finish was bad, multiple areas with scraped off paint. I attached photos. I though I was getting a good deal, I guess you get what you pay for.
