I found this book to be more darker then the authors other books, however it give the story and characters a more of a 3D effect.
The characters are a bit more complex and one of the characters starts to develop a conscious.
My only negative is that the main character did not show more of an emotion when he found out something about a character. I can't say anymore because I'll end up spoiling the book. There is a twist that I did not see coming and it does not have a happy ending.
There is no profanity or sexual content but it is more violent.
I love it and would highly recommend it.
If you read the main series you KNOW where it is ending (and it is not - NOT - happy) but here we see HOW Morse got there. it is an interesting look into the mind of an hybrid that goes from Marseille to Africa, from being faithful to his alien master to wondering what it is to be human!
I have only one small problem with the book, the descriptions concerning some of the food is just not right... but if you are not famillar with it, or are a reader that just overlook the actual details about food, it is not important! has no impact on the story!!
I cannot wait to see if some of the stuff we discovered in that book will make an appearance in the last book of the main series!
For those who care, there is no language in this book and the romance is PG. It does have violent scenes.
I received an ARC of this book but was under no obligation to leave a review.
This science fiction thriller is full of action and adventure (I wish there were more good science fiction thrillers) - an alien invasion is imminent and the main character is there to help the aliens succeed. Yet, he's an alien/human hybrid learning for the first time what it is to be human.
At it's heart the novel is a love story that can only end one way.
The characterization of the hybrid is well done, and I was pulled into his dilemma of should he betray his alien masters. The book is a great introduction to the rest of the Shadowmark series. I received an advance copy of the book and am voluntarily writing this review.
The way the characters develop is extremely good, and I felt sucked into the story.
A well worth it reading time, and a load of fun
I recieved this book for free from the author and had the choice to leave a review or not.
The lead character Morse, is a hybrid a mix of alien and human DNA. His purpose is to ease the invasion of the aliens to take over Earth.
Then he meets a girl.
Can he choose between the girl or his masters ?
