This 4-feet jump start stand is ideal for seedlings, cuttings, flowers and house plants. Grow seedlings faster with 15-20 percent more lumens. Simple toggle clamp for easy lamp height adjustment. Super easy assembly. This product weighs 6.7-pound. Comes with 1 year warranty. Stand is 31 inches tall and 50 inches wide - the feet/supports are 18 inches

Gave it a 5 cause the stand was what I wanted, I just order the wrong version.
Here is the light I purchased:
and the string:
Never mind that the locking mechanism responsible for suspending your (likely expensive) light assembly of choice is equally of poor quality; or that the lanky leg tubes are 3/4" steel, which is admittedly sufficient IFF properly designed. I'm really disappointed at the fact that the marketing photo which blatantly exploits perspective is a subtly false representation of the product and clearly NOT what was received.
If you plan on disassembling this stand after use, I highly recommend looking elsewhere. I doubt this poor design would survive a single disassemble and reassemble, let alone an entire season of reasonable handling. I do not plan on purchasing another Hydrofarm product in the future.
* UPDATE 04-Feb-2015:
Last week, I decided to look for an alternative solution at a local horticulture store and stumbled upon the 2-foot variant of this stand; after explaining my disappointment with the 4-foot variant, the store owner allowed me to open the box for inspection. Unsurprisingly, it was the same junk design.
— STAND —
The stand measures 24" H x 18" W x 26" L. All dimensions are fixed. This size is ideal for lighting smaller plants, propagating cuttings, or house plants. I use mine to grow all sorts of carnivorous plants.
— ADDING A LAMP —
There are two ropes on the ends to hook onto the top of a lamp, and a middle adjustable rope to adjust the height as your plants grow. I have a lamp that needed to be at the very top, so I kind of just wrapped my lamp hanging cords around the top bar (gotta improvise!). Obviously, make sure whatever lamp you plan on adding has spots for hooks at the top.
— FUTURE IMPROVEMENTS —
I would pay money to have a stand that has adjustable legs. You could have many models of varying widths, but if they had one with heights adjustable from two to three feet, that would be amazing. Sure, you can adjust the height of the light, but what happens when you get to the top? That's it. That's the tallest. A sturdier model with improved adjustable legs is a winner in my book.
— SUMMARY —
At the moment, My plants aren't tall plants so I don't have to worry about the height of the stand. This is a compact plant stand and it's done a great job at helping with the growth of my plants. Recommended.
FOR OVERWINTERING, I HAVE A T5 4 BULB FIXTURE ATTACHED TO THE JUMP START STAND, I DID HAVE
TO REWORK THE PULLEY SYSTEM TO SUPPORT THE LIGHT FIXTURE.
ONLY WISH, IF IT WERE TO HAVE A HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT BOTH UP AND DOWN WOULD MAKE THE
PRODUCT THAT MUCH BETTER, YOU WOULD HAVE MORE GROW OPTIONS, CAUSE MY PLANTS ARE TALLER
I HAVE RAISED THE FEET USING BLOCKS, AND WORKS FINE.
I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS STURDY PRODUCT.
