I bought this for two purposes
1. To play with my sons dog in the backyard when they visit
2. To launch "throw lines" into trees for climbing and limbing.
The backyard is about 1/4 acre with my farthest potential throw about 100 feet. But I have to be very accurate. This launcher affords me the accuracy for numerous "throws" without my arm wearing out. I can take the hyperactive dog out, sit in my chair on my deck and shoot balls to the back fence accurately till he gets tired.
For launching throw lines it's excellent. There is a similar product called the "Big Shot" for launching throw lines but it's overkill for my trees.
I don't have to try nearly as hard to get about 5-10ft less distance than the ChuckIt
More compact and easier to carry
Cons: Tubing is not strong enough, the ball goes about as far as a two handed throw with the ChuckIt, was hoping for further
The little hole in the sling (where you put the ball to launch it) seems to be degrading quickly, I hope it doesn't cause a problem, will update if it does, otherwise assume it's not a con afterall.
Overall: I highly recommend this product to anyone who has joint issues from products like the ChuckIt, it's much easier on joints, only problem you may have is with your Bicep or Wrist not being used to the strain when you pull back the ball to launch it. So far I'm feeling great though and my shoulders don't feel messed with after an hour at the park!
This works great for that purpose and provides a cost effective way for
launching wires into trees. While it takes a bit of practice, I've been successful
in lobbing an antenna over 70' into a tree!
I LIKE that it is not cheap! Everyone at the dog park always asks where they can get them, but nobody DOES get one. If you watch how people act it becomes clear that many people would probably hurt themselves, or their pet, if they did have one. Common sense is a requirement for using this.
