How to address the low resolution with Nintendo Switch OLED?

1.) Prepare a HDMI monitor or TV and a Windows computer with USB-C port to support display.

2.) Save the "AuxUpdate.exe" and FW file "HYPER_UPDATE_0X02_0X55" attached to a Windows computer and then launch the AuxUpdate application after the monitor screen is cast successfully.

3.) The next screen which is illustrated below will pop up. Select the graphic card brand in your computer.

4.) In the next screen, you will see the windows interface below. Click at the "Get Firmware Info" first, and then "Download Firmware" and select the ""HYPER_UPDATE_0X02_0X55". The progression bar will start running once the update is running.

5.) Once it is done, click at "Get Firmware Info" and it should show FW are 0x02 and 0X55

Unboxed it, connected all the cables, worked like a charm. Would be even better if it was a bit cheaper, but it does what it is expected to do, and it was the only portable solution I could find to use a zenscreen with the nintendo switch. Zenscreen has not the power to feed the NS, and the NS needs to be fed to 40 W to connect to external display.

Did not work with switch. Could connect but displayed at poor resolution with no sound.

I used it with my PC for some time but the HDMI port has died on it as well now. There are better cheaper options available.

Support 1080p !!
Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2021
If you have a Switch OLED, the new firmware (0X55) allows 1080p and sound output. The new firmware was uploaded 12/28/21. Just download the 2 programs on the HyperDrive support site. (Amazon would not let me post the link--if you google "How to address the low resolution with Nintendo Switch OLED", it should take you there ). Then, connect a laptop/computer into the USB-C host port on the adapter and use an HDMI cable to connect to your TV/Monitor. From there, run the auxupdate program, select your video card type and click "download firmware". Select the Hyper_Update firmware file you downloaded and the firmware on the hub will be updated. Powercycle everything and you should be good to go!
With the new firmware, the hub works perfectly, is solidly built and a really nice travel size. I did take off a star for ease of use because of the firmware issue, and I do feel it's a little overpriced for what it does. However, I'm happy I have it and am satisfied overall. Good luck!

Amazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
I picked this up and took it on 2 trips in the past month and really enjoyed it. This dock is very easy to use obviously as I just plug in the HDMI and power and a USB device (just one USB port, which works well for a wireless keyboard/mouse/remote) and then the USB-C cable that goes into a laptop (or I guess a switch, since they say it is a switch dock). I used it with 3 different laptops over the past month and it worked well with all of them. Any USB-C that supports PD Charging + DP Alt-mode works well. 4K60hz does actually work as long as the laptop supports it and the 65W Charging was enough for all 3 of the laptops that I used with it.
This thing is super convenient because the dock itself doesn't even have to be visible... a long USB-C cable is all that is needed to be left where the laptop will sit and the rest can be hidden away.
I was also able to charge my phone at the same time as the laptop; although there is only 60W max output, so that power comes off of the USB-C port meaning that the laptop has to run on 30W or less (mine do).
All in all this is a great dock that just works and lets all the cables be hidden away for a nice clean look!

This product doesn't work with an OLED switch. The support from the manufacturer is non-existent. The product page says to apply a firmware update to have it function with the oled model, but I wasn't able to successfully apply it using three different PC's. Don't waste your time. I'll be returning it and trying the Genki covert mini dock. $50 cheaper anyway.

I bought this device primarily for my Switch OLED, and even though it does display video, there is absolutely no sound whatsoever. You would expect much more for something that cost $100. Not pleased with this discrepancy at all.

When this works it’s awesome, but when I use to connect my switch to one of my tvs, the screen flickers and sometimes there is no sound. A little disappointing considering the cost.
