I contacted Kingston to start an RMA process to return the bad RAM, and they tell me that Tunny LLC is NOT an authorized reseller, so Kingston will not honor the warranty for me.
Amazon.com did not tell me that the seller was not an authorized reseller and that it would have no warranty from Kingston
Had to disable the power saving features of the CPU to boot. After about two weeks, I realized my laptop wouldn't go to sleep. Very unusual behavior for RAM to cause these issues. Granted, it could be something with my motherboard, processor, etc. They passed memtest86.
Went with Hynix 1866mhz after foolishly not returning these. Wouldn't pay the premium again for the faster speeds, which is why I'm deducting stars. You'll see about a 10 fps increase in gaming, but it wasn't worth the effort or increased cost. You'd be better off buying an SSD with the money you save going with 1600/1866mhz speeds
Have purchased quite a few sticks of Kingston HyperX and Valueram building systems and have never had a problem. Other brands, have had to return a few sets of glitchy memory. Turns out the more sticks of memory you have, the memory sticks have to have less electrical noise on the boards or they become unstable.
Will definitely buy more of these in the future.

Gesagt - getan, den Link auf iDomiX gefolgt und diesen 8GB RAM Baustein gekauft. RAM Baustein sofort in die DS218+ eingebaut und ..... es funktioniert einwandfrei. Meine DS218+ zeigt jetzt 10GB RAM an.
Please note that most laptops allow only for installing two memory stick, and you better go with identical memory stick to benefit from the dual channel memory controls which makes your computer much faster in reading data from memories.
Hyper X is one of my favorite brand when it comes to computer memories.
Bought 16GB and the laptop is noticeably faster and smoother and I can now have multiple high powered engineering programs, ANSYS, Abaqus etc all running simulations along with 15+ Chrome tabs with loads of ram left over.
New lease of life for a i5 2.3Ghz Intel 3000 graphics spec Vaio. Next will be a SSD, to replace the slow HDD, once a good deal is on them from a reputable brand. Plus the ram looks cool, even if you cant see it and you get Hyper X stickers to show everyone what ram you have!
Switching windows is faster, search functions are faster and the touchpad doesn't randomly freeze anymore either.
