Amazing Gaming Headset!

Amazing Gaming Headset!
These headphones are some of the best ones on the market for the money in my opinion. I bought these to replace my Turtle Beach XP-300 headset which finally stopped working after 4 years of heavy use. Although the Turtle Beach headset was very reliable, it had some problems that I wanted to avoid this time around which included the heavier price tag, fitment, weight, and Bluetooth problems. The most annoying was the Bluetooth which had some problems with cutting in and out from time to time. The HyperX Cloud headset took car of all of these problems for me and at a very affordable price. The very first thing that I noticed was the quality of the packaging. I have never seen such nice packaging on a headset, especially one with this price-point. Even my very expensive Turtle Beach headset didn't come with this nice of packaging. The next thing that I noticed was the quality of the cables and headset itself. The main cable on the headset is braided and feels very nice. The headset itself is built very well and was made with nice material. The "HX" symbol is on what looks to be an aluminum plate which looks awesome. The pictures don't do it justice. You will have all of the necessary connectors for a PS4, PC, or and Xbox One (aside from the adapter for the old Xbox One controllers). If you have a newer Xbox One controller, the one with the 3.5mm headphone jack, you don't need to buy the Xbox One headset adapter. The sound is absolutely amazing. Much better than my old Turtle Beach headset which may or may not be due to technological advancements since they were 4 years old. Either way, you will be happy with the sound quality of these headphones. The MIC works great too. You can have the boom well away from your mouth and can still be heard clearly. It is also really easy to remove if you wish to do so. This headset comes with two types of ear muffs too, that way you can pick the best material for your comfort. The sound cancelling properties are pretty good too, not quite as effective as my Turtle Beaches, but good enough for sure. This headset is really light and fits my head better than the Turtle Beach XP-300's did. I have a 7 1/4" hat size, so you will be fine if you are in that range.

I've never thought of a headset worth more than a couple dollars was worth the money. Up until now, I've been using SkullCandy earbuds, and was perfectly happy with them. When I got these, it was more of an impulse buy than anything else. However, now that I have them and several days later, I wouldn't return them to get double the money back. It's a fantastic product at an even greater price.

The microphone is one of this headset's most notable features. It's detachable, so it's not in the way when it doesn't need to be, but stays exactly where it should when you want it to. It's also incredibly clear and very sensitive (which is a positive, if you're in a quiet environment). The main reason I purchased this headset is to talk to my girlfriend while playing games together, since she was getting tired of hearing herself/the game in my desk mic from the speakers. It fills this role incredibly well, using it's combination of crisp, clear sound both sending and receiving. It's also relatively lightweight, and comfortable enough to wear for any amount of time without any discomfort.

The connections are basic audio plugs, one for the microphone, and one for the headphones (but can be merged into one plug using one of the many included accessories). This is wonderfully convenient, especially because you can use the headset for a phone, MP3 player or tablet to listen to music or communicate away from the computer. Due to the decreased amount of power mobile devices (laptops included) put out, the difference in sound quality is noticeable, because the mobile devices don't put out enough power to drive these at their full potential. Because of this, I feel as if the sound quality suffers just a little bit, sacrificing the extra power it needs for heavy bass in favor of the convenience of using a standard hookup rather than additional power through USB or a battery, though this may be because I'm used to having a subwoofer at my feet and feeling every sound, and I imagine the same experience with headphones would be a terribly uncomfortable one. Nonetheless, the sound quality is superb.

As many others have said, the box it comes in is of phenomenal quality. Upon first getting it, I was greeted with an uninspiring box that doesn't give much information, or impressiveness. However, this is sort of like the outer sleeve, like what's done with DVDs and Blu Rays. After opening this up, I'm pleasantly found with an incredibly durable box that just screams quality. It's a wonder they even include the carrying bag in the first place, when you have such a wonderful box to use to carry it! It may be intended to be thrown away, only to be used as packaging, but I'm keeping it as a wonderful carrying case. I'm sure something of it's kind would cost nearly the cost of the whole headset if bought separately, but here it's given as just packaging. That's quality.

Now, this isn't just a nice headset and a pretty box; there's a lot in store. It comes with the detachable microphone, a small converter cable to make the two cords into one, an "airplane adapter" (I didn't know what this was until asking someone else. I've never been on a flight that offered a movie), a basic cord extension, and then a more advanced cord extension with built in volume and play/pause controls. On top of all that, they offer a very nice carrying bag, and a second set of ear cups! They come default with p/leather ones, but have velour (think velvet) ear cups included for free. I tried both, and must say I prefer the p/leather ones, simply because they're quite good at blocking out background noise. They can get just a little bit sweaty, but it's no big deal. Most all of the cords are in nice woven fabric sleeves, so they're very nice to look at and feel. However, the basic extender and the converter are not wrapped, though I'm not sure why the extender isn't (The converter is too small to bother).

The only actual complaint I have is with the extension/retraction of the headset. It's made very well, there's no worries about breaking, but it's rather weak. There's nothing to really hold it there. I prefer it being just a little bit before fully extended, and it'll just slide the rest of the way out to being fully extended after not long of use. It's not a huge problem, it's still perfectly usable either way, just a little more comfortable not quite fully extended. Without any sort of locking mechanism, though, it slides easily.

So, all in all, a wonderful purchase. For a computer, it's the only headset I've ever used I've thought is worth the money. If you're buying this solely for a phone or tablet, however, you should look elsewhere, for headsets with lesser power needs.

I've been through quite a few pairs of headphones, but so far the HyperX takes the cake. Ever since my Razer X12 died (as I expected a $40 pair headphones to) I needed to find something that was designed much better and within a reasonable price range.

Don't get me wrong, the Razers I had weren't completely awful, they just weren't great. How they were designed really shows that. The cord that leads into the headset is loose, which means that if it gets caught on something it can rip the wires leading to the speakers. That's what happened to me at least.

After skimming through some reviews on a lot of the most known brands of headphones like other Razer products I happened to come across the HyperX headset. I am almost disappointed that these aren't one of the top search results when you look for gaming headphones because so far they are incredible. They were packaged very well, so much so that I kept the box to keep all the spare parts in.

I don't know if it's just me, but a lot of the headphones I've tried pinch the top of my head, which can become pretty painful after a while. All I had to do with these is give a few quick adjustments and, viola! Pressure is evenly distributed across my head so that I don't feel like Jason Voorhees is crushing my skull, nor do I feel they could fall of at any time during my gaming sessions.

The sounds I hear on these are crisp with a very nice level of bass. I don't know how many times headphones are made to try to rattle your brain to pieces with bass, but these ones nail it just right. The mic was one of two things I was skeptical about, the other being the amazing price. I've always been wary of detachable mics, so I made sure to test this one and it sounds great. It doesn't pick up any irritating background noise so my teammates can hear exactly what I'm saying when I say it.

There is only one tiny thing I was confused about when I got these headphones. The volume control box has a mute mic and a volume adjuster, but there is a button on the back and I have no idea what it's for. I pressed it multiple times, and nothing seemed to happen, so I shrugged my shoulders and just ignored it.

All in all, these are by far the best headphones I've used in a LONG time. They feel amazing, look cool and are built tough, with great sound and mic quality at an unparalleled price. If you're looking for headphones, look no further. Just get these, you won't be disappointed.

My son uses these for gaming and I use them in my speech therapy practice. The boom mic is excellent for sound quality and they work very well if the other person is also using a mic. The volume can be slightly low if the communication partner isn’t speaking directly into a mic. I find them a bit big for my small head but they are perfect for him.

5.0 out of 5 stars Se nota la calidad nada más tocarlos
Reviewed in Spain on June 14, 2019

L'audio in generale è abbastanza equilibrato. Comprato come ricondizionato a 55 euro mi posso ritenere soddisfatto.
