Whipping Power Far Too Powerful For Us

It was really cool for the short time it was around, but I'm solely basing my five stars off that. The material, gets dirty easily, but that was a given. Unfortunately, I handed these to a five year old thinking he was going to stretch and play with it, not realizing their true power *insert facepalm here*. Upon opening the package and handing them to him he ran straight into a room with his grandparents and baby sister and started whipping them around where we quickly realized their full length and whipping power. Eventually, after calming the well-meaning villain from his treachery, he used them for more imaginative play tying them into traps on the staircase. It was meant for a sensory corner, but their whipping power was just too great for us. Still, 5 stars.

I use this to keep my door from slamming shut

I got this because I needed to keep our bathroom door from slamming shut when people leave it open - so I tied this to the door and the wall. It's perfectly stretchy to give really no resistance when you close the door, but does bring it back very gently when released. It has given way (stretched out) a little bit with this particular use, but I just moved up the knot and it doesn't seem to be getting worse now. One weird note: I had the second stretchy string stored in my utility closet and it happened to be sitting on top of masking tape for a few days. Well when I went to pick it up, the material touching the masking tape had melted slightly into a gooey mess in the contact spot. I'm not sure which one the goo belongs to (guessing it's the stretchy string), but after I washed the string, it seemed to be fine. I store them separately now to prevent further chemistry experiments from happening...

I have used the toy to occupy my hands to help me pay attention. I have let some students use it. It is pretty fun to whack people with, but be careful not to have it come back and whack you instead. It does not have a lot of replay value to it since you can get board of it pretty fast, but I love to use it to keep my hands busy. The price is okay, I would expect this to be more of a 6 dollar or less toy though since there isn't much that goes into the making of it. I would definitely get it if it is on sell for less than 6 dollars.

I bought these for my 3 year old twin boys. They absolutely love them and keep finding new ways to play with them. They stretch super far and even if they snap back at someone they don't hurt like a rubberband. It is much softer. They are easy to clean. I just wash with a drop of soap and some water. Then I add some baby powder so they aren't sticky.

Only complaint: they seem like they are getting weak in the middle. I will see how long they last since it has only been a few days since we got them.

BEWARE!!!: This is hazardous if children get it around their necks. I cut my son's item in small pieces and put just 2 of them in his "safe bag kit" no more than 5 inches long ( if you do so, it's not suitable for small children since they can chew on it or swallow it). I bought it for my son, to help him deal with his anxiety along with other fidgety devices.

Purchased this product for a child with cerebral palsy to play with during church, when silence is desired. Fun product, but it does spring back quickly after being stretched significantly, so be careful to avoid injury (especially if two people are stretching it, and one lets go). Fun to fidget with, though, aside from stretching. And having two colors with high contrast is a bonus: twisting them together, making designs, etc.
