Top Customer Reviews
1: It's very flimsy, it will certainly protect from scratches (mostly, see #2), but will do little to protect the phone from a fall. It also seems to come off pretty easily on the sides, which catches on the screen protector and starts to peel it off.
2: There is a cut-out that exposes the top right corner of the phone for no discernible reason. Why would you do this Hyperion? It looks as if it's for a power button, but there is no power button. All it does is leave a piece of the phone exposed and more susceptible to damage.
3: Like others have said, the buttons aren't terribly accessible. This isn't a huge concern of mine because I know where the buttons are but I feel like Hyperion could have done a much better job here.
That said, it's a screen protector that is not overly bulky and fits with an extended battery. I really wish there were better options out there because this one is only so-so. I'd rather have something better made protecting a phone that costs over $650 to replace. If Hyperion (or anyone else for that batter) makes a better case for the 4200 mAh battery, I will buy it.
Durability: Supposedly TPU is good stuff? It's new to me (My Motorola Droid and Droid X2 didn't need a case). It's flexible but didn't want to stretch much when trying to get the phone in. Pro-tip: Start on the side, not the top or bottom when trying to put this case on your phone.
Design: Honeycomb design looks decent - The hexagons are matte, and the lines around them are glossy and slightly indented, as if they case was originally smooth and matte and the design was carved into it. My mom thought it looked like a snake skin design. It's not as "grippy" as I'd like, but it's much better than the default slick back of the phone.
Overall, I'm very happy with it. It's enough that I don't feel like I'm going to snap this thin little piece of plastic in half any more, and lets me use the awesome extended battery, which has kept my phone alive for 2 days, 12 hours, 30 minutes, and still shows 14% remaining. :-)
The bad part is that the volume and power button are near impossible to use with this case on. I have to hit whatever button I want a few times and push hard where the button should be...it's hit and miss though.
I really suggest passing on this case if you want to be able to use the volume and power buttons. It was poorly designed in that respect.
It's not horrible, but t's not good either. The case itself seems thick enough and will probably do a decent job of protecting the phone. The problem is that the cutouts are not in the right place, especially the ones for the microphones. No matter how much I manipulate the case, I can't get the bottom mic, THE ONE YOU TALK TO PEOPLE ON THE PHONE WITH, to not be covered by the case. It just won't fit into the cutout space they made for it. In addition, the cutout for the USB charging cable on the bottom is not correct, so I have to literally jam the USB cable into the port. The buttons are hard to push, but that might improve over time as I've had the same problem with other cases in the past.
Hopefully it will cushion the phone in case of a problem and hopefully people will be able to hear me when I talk to them, but while I love having the extended battery, I sure miss my Seidio case.
But I think the case looks nice and feels good. I'm just hoping that someone will develop a beefier case to go with the battery.
