Works great. I like that it has a "mode" button on the shoulder to switch between 3 and 6 button mode. Helps with some games. I use this for my sega emulator on my PC. Makes playing the games MUCH easier and natural. Feels solid, the wire is about 6 ft long. The d-pad isn't quite as smooth and solid as the real controller but it's definitely better then the other options out there. If you check out emulator gamepad reviews this is the one almost everyone of them recommend. It's how I found it and I am NOT disappointed.

Pretty good Genesis controller to use with emulators. Used on my mac pro, plug-n-play - I already had the buffalo SNES style controller (HIGHLY Recommended) which is the best controller for emulation in terms of build, comfort - but I wanted this one to play fighting games on Genesis with the six button layout and a few flight games that needed the layout. I like and have been "breaking it in" the D-pad was real tight when opened, but my one complaint about it when compared to the ibufallo snes controller is that it is VERY noisy! The button pushing and D-pad moving make loud clicks, might annoy you if you're losing in a fighting game or spamming attack in a beat 'em up, Besides that great controller and I applaud hyperkin for giving us a USB version

Awesome controller. bought a second one for a friend. More buttons than a standard Sega Genesis controller, but works great with Kega's Emulator. Very happy. got my games back.(Also works with HTML5 for those looking.) Might even paint the letters red like the original controller.. not sure yet.

Sturdy materials and good quality. This controller works great and does not squeak or anything. It's also very responsive.

I should note that I did buy this to use with EmulationStation running on a Raspberry Pi. While the controller did work for the most part, it didn't map everything correctly. I think this is more of a software issue, as RetroArch is really geared toward the six-axis four button controllers. While I could map the A,B,C buttons, I never did figure out how to get the X,Y,Z working. It's also lacking some of the other buttons that would make this useful for a pi (select, L1, R1). Overall I'm not going to let this affect my review of the product since the controller itself is great. Just a warning for anyone looking to use this with their Pi.

** Update **
Several people were asking if I found a controller that does work with a Pi... and indeed I did! Check out the Bensussen Deutsch Power A.

Perfect for Genesis emulation

Simply put, this is a perfect Genesis controller. Immediately recognized when plugged in via usb, very easy to program into your Genesis emulator of choice (I like Fusion with the scan lines added) and the buttons are very responsive. I couldn't recommend it more!

I love how this has all the buttons I need for any genesis game that is on Steam via Sega MegaDrive (genesis) Classics

it has 6 face buttons (ABC and XYZ) as well as a MODE button for the games that need it. (3 or 4 of em aren't compatable with the 6 button controller)

It has the same feel as the Sega Mega Drive (Japanese version of the Sega Genesis). The buttons work well, and have the same pressure requirements as the original controller. But the Directional pad is a little stiffer than I'm used to, and the diagonals don't register properly some of the times. But other than that, if you have a Sega emulator for your PC/Laptop, this is a perfect accessory to play those games, and take you back to your childhood days.
