After re-reading this, I should note that applying them will not be issue free but if you take your time and pay attention to detail it will help. I would also recommend watching the video. The lenses are not perfectly flat nor easy to get to, do not go into this expecting it to be as easy as a childrens sticker book. I suspect the people who mentioned having issues with bubbles later either did not clean/dry the lenses properly or they did multiple applying with the same protector.
Do dry runs (do not peel off anything) putting them on to see how they are going to fit. So when you go to do it, you already know the position and where your going to start from.
First, there are two complete sets that come in the box which is great in case you mess up the first time. It comes with a little squeegee, eye lens protectors, camera protector and a wet and dry cloth for pre-aplication. The actual protectors are foiled from both sides which have to be taken off one side just before the application, second after applying and squeegeeing it. You might be familiar with the type of the smartphone protectors of a kind, yet these are little different. More like zagg after taking the film out. More thick and definitely not as cheap plasticky, MOST IMPORTANTLY, it cures after a day! I don't recommend to use vive until it cures as you dont want any mishap on your eyesight.
I thought I will mess up as to aligning was little bit of a hassle, surprisingly I was done with the whole set in about 15 minutes of patient work, and still have second set in back up in case I scratch the protectors. The small piece that covers the lens, that was different, I thought its just plain piece of plastic w/o any type of adhesion, Sure it does have a tab, but it broke off without giving any indication of film that should be peeled off or anything. I didn't read the instructions, if there are any, so maybe its my mistake.
Just when I was about to give up and throw the piece away after trying to split the plastic with my fingernail for good 2, 3 minutes, it finally did peel, but I could swear that I thought I'm dreaming, You just can not tell theres film over the adhesive part of the plastic lens cover, although there is. Just saying in case you would be like me, and probably throwing it away.
When it comes to viewing experience, you probably question clarity, I really didn't spot much of a difference, but that might be due to also replacing the face cushion for a thinner memory foam that is 6mm and washable with alcohol pads. Definitely though, the picture is still sharp and clear to read text, discoloration wasn't noted, optics are the same, no deformation of any kind. And even though Ive had a bubble after application within 10 degrees of the straight line of sight to the center point, the very next day Inspecting that spot, It was completely gone which made me very satisfied and down to recommend this to anyone. Also the 6mm thinner face foam along with a wide nose piece is just so much better. Or at least compensates for any loss of the visual quality IF it happens with stock face cushion, which I did not try. But I doubt it.
And yes, I used both protector sets and failed both. I will buy another set to see how this works out. Unluckily, there is no zero star for this if I fail this time.
I ordered a few things from this company and all of them were cheap flimsy rip-offs.
