I recently purchased the G-10 Mini. It is well built from what I can tell - heavy, motor action is powerful and smooth. The build quality seems very good. I also own a Zaaz 20k which is over $2500. They are different in many ways, but I wanted a portable for travel and my office so I opted for the G-10 from mine and other independent reviews.
There are some issues however, let me list:
Powerful...at 20Hz this machine will rattle the fillings out of your teeth. I get relief from my back muscle spasms quickly and effectively. It is a pivotal type machine which is my preference vs lineal.
Build quality, fit and finish are very good.
Comes with a plate that can be used on carpeted floors. Plate is a veneer coated wood composite material you put between the suction cup feet of the unit and a carpeted floor. Smart and useful addition.
Exercise bands are shock cords...an improvement over rubber or silicone tubes that often dry out and snap. And they're adjustable.
Remote feels a bit cheap and requires you to look at it anytime you want to press something. In other words there's no raised buttons so that you can pay attention to standing on the vibration platform it's distracting. Also it's a bit quirky you can press down to increase the frequency but you can't hold down the " button" to decrease the frequency you have to continually press and release makes no sense.
Machine only has 3 settings: 30/60/90 seconds. My Zaaz can go up to 12 minutes so I'm not sure what's up with these limitations.
It is supposed to be Bluetooth enabled. Good luck with that. There is absolutely no mention of where to find the app, how to load it, and how to connect to the Bluetooth technology. I found the app on Google Play Store, and downloaded it. It requires at some point a PIN to complete the installation. No where is a PIN listed nor referred to. I've emailed the company and nothing. I've called customer support and got a woman who said "hello" then hung up on me. I called back and got a voicemail from what sounds like a personal residence. What...? The support website requires a Member Login...but there is no mention anywhere of how to become a member and a password is required to get onto the support site. This is crazy and frustrating to say the least. I'm concerned should I have a problem with the machine that I won't be able to reach anyone. They certainly don't make it easy which is disconcerting. Until they figure out what customer service and support is supposed to look like I can't recommend highly you spend $1000. I'm feeling a bit of buyer's remorse. I'll update when/if I hear from anyone at Hypervibe.
I got a call from a rep for the company. She emailed me installation instructions which did get everything working - no need for a PIN it turns out...I had some sort of problem with the original download, so I deleted and reinstalled the app.
Why put your customers through all this? If you spent the time as you did to create a slick color brochure that shows how to set up the Bluetooth app then include it with the machine....instead of making me spend two days trying to figure it out or get someone from the company to contact me.
You can by way of the downloaded programs (included with the app download) use the machine for more than the 30-90 seconds which turns out to be the "manual" settings, i.e what you can do with it if you don't have or choose not to use the Bluetooth connection and Hypervibe app. The app has some pretty cool programs for Active Aging, pain relief, weight loss...etc. that can run as long as 32 minutes.
I have a much better opinion of the machine now that I finally have everything that I should have received in the original package.
So, the hassle factor is high for no good reason. I've raised my rating from 3-4 stars for now.
I've upgraded my star value to 4 stars now that I've put some time in on the machine. As I said, I also have the Zaaz 20k which is a good machine and highly rated - cost is around $2500. It has some issues but the vibration action is smooth and refined. This little G-10 is a workhorse. I get a substantial workout and pain relief in no time. The action is a bit more harsh than the Zaaz, however I'm typically using it less often. The Zaaz is a nice machine for long sessions. The G-10 is a bit more coarse than the Zaaz and the motor at time feels like its loping ever so slightly. However, the G-10 is a great machine for fast, intense workouts and pain relief. At high frequencies (18-20Hz) and low amplitude I get back pain relief in as little as 90 seconds. I wore socks as instructed and at high frequency and high amplitude my heals were sore and bruised. This thing can rattle you up. I've paid more attention to the website and guidebook there and I'm now having a better experience (like realizing on this machine you need low amplitude on the highest frequencies). The phone app is a real plus.
I feel comfortable recommending this machine as either a primary if you're budget minded or as a travel and office addition to a larger home machine. I've seen machines for far less money, but given what they must do....vibrate up to a 300 lb + person I don't think I'd scrimp on price if you're serious about this technology and therapy. The relief I obtain is invaluable.
The Bluetooth feature suddenly went dead. I've had this machine less than one month. It isn't easy to find customer support... here is the best way I've found: email the seller and/or log in to the member support website by opting in for the newsletter on the site - they'll send you a password by email with the newsletter welcome message and you have the key to enter the site:
I heard from a young man named David. He is troubleshooting the issues I'm having with the Bluetooth. I heard from the seller as well so they do appear to be taking customer service a bit more seriously than my first impressions. What is missing are clear instructions on how to connect/pair the unit's bluetooth to your phone to utilize the app that should have been included in the box with the machine. Lots of leg work as you can see to get here. The engineering of the app and the machine are from Australia so that seems to be part of the problem given how long everything seems to take and it appears the US support is still a bit ragged.
I'll update on the Bluetooth issue once resolved.
I now have the app working without issues. I adds quite a bit to the user experience. David from Hypervibe support has been quite helpful and indicated he will share my experiences with the Hypervibe support team in order to lessen the hassles future customers experience. Mindful of the effort he has exerted and given my experience with the product for a couple of months now, I can comfortably raise my rating to 5 stars. The issues with the app and bluetooth pairing were quite a hassle, but David did take a genuine interest in fixing things. I took this with me on a recent vacation and using the app and its preset programs I got a very good fitness routine each day. Now that everything works as it should, I find I really like the machine.
