"Not too often have I experienced reading a novel that fearlessly exposes the realities of race, unconditional love, pain, trust, infidelity, and forgiveness, all combined into one very realistic and relatable plot. It is amazing how words put on a page can be crafted in such a way as to reveal to the reader the dialect, cultural norms, and behavior of the characters. The journey the plot took into the past also gave the reader an opportunity to construct images of each character in order to reveal what the author was trying to portray about these characters later in the text. Author Marian L. Thomas was not afraid to touch on the sensitive subjects of damaged relationships, sexual assault, violence, and loss. I Believe in Butterflies comes highly recommended. You will definitely not be disappointed." - Sandra Price Blyden, San Francisco Book Review
"I truly have no words to express how utterly amazed and pleased I am with this novel entitled I Believe in Butterflies. This story has moved me to tears, made me think, and challenged me in ways I never would have guessed. Well written, captivating, and wholly remarkable are just a few of the praises I can attribute to this wonderful work of literary perfection. Written by Marian L. Thomas, Butterflies harkens back to memories that I had of growing up and having to deal with my own family and their many secrets. Ms. Thomas breaks down her incredible tale by giving us readers each leading lady’s point of view. The readers get to see what each woman was thinking about, their views on each of their own heartaches, and how they all intricately fit together in the end...This novel is truly encouraging and heartfelt, and I felt the love through the pages. This book helped me to remember to believe and trust again. Let its wisdom speak to you. I highly recommend this to everyone. - Reviewed by Lauren Stafford, Seattle Book Review

So, how does Naya deal with:
The birth of a daughter she never knew she gave birth to.
A son that doesn't know whether to love or hate her but, doesn't' give a second thought to dwindling money from her bank account or blackmailing her.
A so-called friend that used her name and her remarkable singing talents to take a fast ride to the high life.
A husband that has no limits to what he will do to remove her pain.
And, a father "The Beast" that fakes his death and hides out in the family home ... hoping to one day make amends to Naya for stealing her innocence at the age of thirteen!
Marian L. Thomas has shown through Color me Jazzyman and My Father's Color's how uniquely related the colors in our individual crayon box could resemble those in Naya's box.
I'm looking forward to the next color!

My Father's Colors-The Drama-Filled Journey of Naya Monà Continues
Marian did an excellent job of showing you the ins and outs of the characters allowing you to develop your own special favorite characters. I loved that it was not male bashing yet truthful and just enough to keep you from hating JK... A Must Read!!!
