Brenda is Amazon and ARe best-selling author for multiple titles and her love for reading fantasy, paranormal, and contemporary erotic romance has allowed the voices in her head to come out and play (according to her shrink, this is healthy!). Brenda resides in Tampa, FL with her husband, six cats, a dog, a turtle named Tammy, and a bunny named Alice (only the cats are hers!) when not attending conventions or leather/kink events. She is active in the Tampa Bay GLBT & leather community. Brenda is an associate member with the Tampa Leather Club, Ms. Florida Leather n' Fetish Pride 2016, the organizer of Tampa Bay's Leather Social, and the owner (since Jan. 2016) of the Florida Leather & Fetish Pride weekend event that is held every November. Follow-up: "He pushed into the motel office and was immediately assaulted with smells that he would forever associate with owners from India. He had no idea if the stench was due to incense, food, or lack of soap and water, but it seem [sic] like the only time he encountered the nose twitching smell was when he walked into these types of motels."
This little tidbit could not be more ensconced in the white, anglo, western elitism. It doesn't add any kind of helpful detail to the setting except to make me wonder why the author felt as if she needed to paint a culture with a broad and unflattering brush. This was gratuitous and xenophobic, frankly.
One other note on this book is that while both Zep and Spider are very hot together, this story was much more plot driven and the steamy scenes were more suggestive than graphic, but I thought that it worked well.
This book delved more in-depth with an undercover operation involving our guys from the first book but spotlighting the angst between Zep and ATF hottie, Spider. These two guys have a negative emotional history going back to grade school. Between the elaborate setup involving numerous agencies working to take down a mc club running drugs, guns and human trafficking, the highly emotional involvement between the I.N.E.T. brothers and especially Zep and ATF operative Spider, this story was more involved and fast paced than the first book that introduced us to the world of the I.N.E.T. and the men who are the very capable backbone of the elitist agency.
It sounds like there will be more books in this series and this reader will be buying every single one!
