Doesn't work well for me (using Flashforge Creator Pro with PEI bed). First layer doesn't stick well and lamination is not good. I tried different temperatures (up to 240c) but still not good. I had better success with other non black filaments from Hatchbox and IC3D. I recently gravitate more and more to Hatchbox ABS filaments, better price and so far they all gave me very good printing results.

Edit: added a picture with sample prints with Hatchbox yellow, IC3D red, IC3D blue and IC3D black (the subject of my review). The IC3D black I got underperforms consistently, except for very simple models.

First quarter of the roll had severe warping issues, and couldn't get anything to stick. This was not our set up, as ABS from both Hatchbox and Prototype Supply printed just fine with no issues. Would not stick (without warping) to Kapton tape with acetone slurry without smashing it to the bed, rendering the part nearly impossible to dislodge without marring. Could only successfully print very small parts, and those results varied as well. Multiple times we attempted to come back to this spool to give it another shot.

The absolute last straw was after that first quarter of the roll, it would no longer extrude, even after increasing temps +20C and lowering print speeds by over 50%. The extruder motor skipped at an increasing frequency, and then the flow seized completely. Even had issues purging the material out to switch over to another brand of ABS.

I am terribly disappointed, as I had purchased a roll of this, and then my boyfriend also purchased one additional roll for a large printing project. We are now stuck with two rolls of junk. The most disappointing thing of all, is that we were excited to try filament that was produced locally (in our home state). The quality of the product has really been a let down.

--More detailed information below--

We are most certainly not novices at printing, and I am certainly not a novice with polymers. This was a defective spool. The MFR(MVR) was obviously not consistent, and there were other corresponding physical properties issues with the polymer. I also noticed that the IC3D ABS had a matte finish to it, whereas all other ABS I have encountered had a much higher gloss on average. This filament is just about perfect. I've used it on a Printrbot Simple Metal with heated bed and a Rostock Max V2 and have had great results with both. No clogs whatsoever and the prints come out very strong and very aesthetically pleasing. The spool is very sturdy and the packaging leaves nothing to be desired. Great stuff.

I own a small business in which I use my printer non-stop ([...]). I have put over 1200 hours on my flashforge creator and during that time I have tried numerous brands of plastic (Filaco, makerbot, Zentoolworks, Flashforge). I have had no negative issues with this plastic and its price is excellent.

I spoke on the phone with the owner for a short time, and he helped me find a part for my printer that I was struggling with.

I only buy IC3D filament now.

I've been using IC3D filament for the last few days of prototyping, and I am quite impressed. The consistency is great, no feeding issues or weird artifacts from inconsistent diameter of the filament. The filament is currently being used in a Da Vinci 1.0 with the temperature of extrusion at 230°C, while the heated platform is at 90°C. Considerably better filament than what comes in the XYZ proprietary cartriges. Very impressed with the results and thank you Michael for the incredible customer service and genuine kindness involved with our transaction. Consistent, accurate and quite vibrant. Tested against a few competitors in the Da Vinci, this has been the best so far. This will be the only filament I use, and I highly would recommend this filament to anyone.

(Edit) I was promptly contacted my the manufacturer and shipped a new roll. It is as good as the first roll I bought from them. They have renewed my faith as a customer. Thank-you.

This is the second time I have purchased your filament. This batch seems to have been very bad. After multiple failed prints due to head jams I ran my fingers along a length and could feel the change in diameter. Be advised.

This filament was recommended to me from a friend when I was having issues with bubbles in the stock filament that came with my printer. Since I started purchasing IC3D ABS, I have yet to have any bubbles or filament-related issues in any of my prints 6 spools later.

It is a little pricier than other ABS filaments I have seen, but so far I say it's worth the extra little investment.
