Where do I start. The characters are certainly characters, some so complex as to be befuddling but still like people I already know. Other's are so simple and sincere that I can't imagine a world without them. But the plot, wow! It was one that went up and down with wicked turns and then suddenly off it went sideways! But the story itself demanded such a plot. It contained morals, philosophy, conundrums and that could be just Chapter 1! The book was a ride unlike any I've had before - I'm looking forward to another installment soon.

Once again PJ Manney has provided a winning sequel in this high-impact science fiction series. We are taken deeper into Major Tom’s cyborg adventure as he finds his new “self” and his previous self (Peter) confronted with the political and technological aftermath of the Revolution. The book parallels many of today’s political issues and illustrates how humans (who seem to always repeat history through violence) could possibly react in the future as they fight for their divided moral values. It also provides a mind-expanding look at the future of the rapidly developing AI technology that exists today and its possible effects on the next generations of the human race.

Manney’s ability to expertly intertwine artificial intelligence technology, politics, moral thinking, and music in this book leaves one to ponder at the end if indeed this is just science fiction or a genuine look into the possible future of man.

Loved the book. Can't wait for the final chapter in book three. This story colored a picture of dystopian future that felt like it could really happen. Covering the issue of AI and corrupt politics and corporatism that reflects what is happening today in our society with the state of affairs and where our technology is headed. Awesome read people. Was very excited that this finally came out! Like the first in this series, it takes a couple of chapters to find yourself in the world Manney has created. But once you do, the narrative sweeps you along until you refuse to put it down without finishing. Really makes some interesting points about where technology will take us, as well as where we are politically as a nation and who really pulls the levers of power. A great read. Can't wait for the 3rd!

I won this book through Goodreads. It was not the genre I would normally read but enjoyed the story itself. I did feel it was too detailed for my taste and I skimmed over it in places. Since this was Book 2 & I hadn't read #1 it took me awhile to pick up on the characters & story line. But, it is a book you can read alone. After finishing it I would like to read the next book to see where the story goes from here.

I felt disappointed at the ending in this book as I found it to be predictable. Still worth a read, just adjust expectations - don’t be expecting the thrill of the first book.
