One word sums it up: Wow!
I was intrigued by the huge Sample Tank library with the included expansion packs, since one can never have enough sounds. As you can expect, you'll get the full mix of sounds from stunning and breathtaking to dated and cheesy. You won't get key switches, round-robin samples, and different patches of articulations like high-end, mutli-sampled VST instruments, but you'll get such an incredibly enormous library and a powerful engine that you are guaranteed to find what you need for almost every scenario. My two complaints about the Sample Tank are... 1. The user interface must have been designed for monitors built in the 1990's, because the controls are annoyingly small on today's high-resolution LCD monitors. 2. Some of the sounds, such as the beatbox sounds, use just one octave or less. That's fine if you only have a one-octave keyboard controller, but for the rest of us, it means that some patches have 76 keys that do absolutely nothing.
For my thoughts on the Miroslav Orchestra, please see my comprehensive review on the individually-packaged product's page. Individually, I rate it three stars, but as part of this bundle, the extra value would bring my rating up to a solid four stars.
The SampleTron, SampleMoog, and SonikSynth... these are not libraries that I will use often since my field of expertise is in traditional world/folk music, but they are TONS of fun! The sounds are so authentically nostalgic, literally playing just one note on your keyboard will instantly bring back memories of a particular song or band. They are truly beautiful-sounding and very purposeful libraries.
The CSR reverbs have become my studio's main algorithmic reverbs. I like them that much, and don't have any regrets about selling my Lexicon PCM 60 or Yamaha REV-500. The interfaces for these reverbs are VERY well-designed, and that's not something you'll hear me say everyday about VST processors. You start with an "easy" interface for adjusting the main reverb parameters, but then you also have a selectable advanced interface for adjusting every parameter you can imagine.
(Update May 2016: After three years, CSR is still my go-to reverb. The other day I recorded a singer who has a nice airy top end on her voice and a strong but clean sibilance on her esses. I worked with CSR's Plate reverb for about twenty minutes, tweaking and adjusting, and developed the most spacious and open-sounding reverb perfectly suited for her voice. When I sit back and listen to the mix, I am truly impressed by what CSR has allowed me to do. I recently downloaded the trial versions of Valhalla's Room and Vintage reverbs to do some comparison listening. Though Valhalla sounds fantastic, CSR's controls are so in-depth that, with patience, you can zero in on exactly the reverb sound you want, leaving the differences between CSR and Valhalla arguably negligible. I have nothing against Valhalla, but realized I simply didn't need it.)
The EQs and compressors that come with this package not only sound great, but are loaded with a variety of ultra-useable presets for so many different applications. There are presets for vocals, drums, basses, mastering... you name it. Both the Classic Compressor and Classic EQ are two of my "go-to" processors because you can start with a preset and then tailor it to your specific need. IK's 670 compressor is simply unbelievable on vocals. It does a fantastic job of inconspicuously bringing the vocals to the front of the mix. And Amplitube 3 gives Guitar Rig 5 Pro, which I also own, a real run for the money. It's loaded with so many presets, you'll have a blast auditioning them all and tweaking the sounds to your liking.
The value of this bundle, in my opinion, is worth every penny and then some. I'd honestly consider it to be the single best deal I've purchased for my DAW to date.
Kramer tape saturation looks really sweet and I've heard good things about it. T-racks deluxe is enough of an expansion to simulate a warm analogue sound.
The other products i.e. - Amplitube if you are a guitar or bass player, is more likeable to my own needs than Guitar Rig. Others may disagree, but after reviewing the free version I was in love. The full version with the addons is perfect. The amps
can be used for other instruments as well. It does not have to be used in a traditional manner.
The reverb plugins, I'm just getting into. Miroslav Philharmonik was and is great but some with find a bit of a synthish sound with the looped samples. I'm not complaining but the music I hear being produced is for the most part needing editing. If done tastefully this library is huge for anyone whom wants to add a film scoring element to their tunes. Another tool in the arsenal.
The sampletank 2 and samplemoog are bonuses. I found the sampled brass not bad and the amount of samples is way more than enough to get you going.
