4.0 out of 5 stars Don't set yourself up for disappointment

*EDIT*
Ok I had to give this thing another chance. I read a lot of reviews that said you should let your hair air dry for awhile before using this brush, so that's what I did. I will say it did work a little better for me, but still wasn't great. I had to run the brush over each section at least 15-20 times and it still didn't work very well. This little guy just doesn't produce enough heat to make my hair behave. It's just hot enough to suggest to my hair where it should go. I need a tool with enough heat to power a jet propulsion engine to tell my hair "hey, you're gonna do what I say or I'm going to incinerate you." And even then as soon as that tool turns its back my hair just goes back to doing whatever it wants. I've included a couple of pics for reference. The first pic is my hair after letting it air dry and then using this brush to dry/style it. The second is after spending 30 minutes attacking it with 450 degrees of hot ceramic fury.

My hair is the three "verys." Very curly, very frizzy, very thick. I have dreamed of finding a way to easily straighten my hair since I was in the 6th grade when some girl that I barely remember made fun of my frizz every day for the whole year (I'm looking at you, TASHA.) I scrolled by this little guy 47 times in buzzfeed article after buzzfeed article about revolutionary products that you just HAVE to try. All 47 times I said to myself "this is NOT going to work." I knew it wasn't going to work because last time I got my hair cut my stylist pulled out an industrial strength version of this very tool and ran it through my hair for approximately 11 nanoseconds before quietly sobbing to herself "this isn't going to work. " Then she pulled out a leaf blower. But the 48th time I came across this brush, my heart whispered "maybe THIS brush is REVOLUTIONARY. Maybe THIS brush will at least shave precious hours off your styling time." So I said out loud to absolutely no one "what the heck, it's not a bad price, I'll just give her a whirl." I was a fool. I used this brush on 1/4 of my hair before I considered dropping it in the toilet to put it out of its misery. I fought every impatient instinct that screamed at me to hurry up. I meticulously sectioned my hair and dried miniscule sections slowly and with great love and devotion. I think I heard my hair laughing as it frizzed worse than when I dry it with a normal hair dryer. I purchased a "miracle" hair serum (spoiler alert it was NOT miraculous, THANKS BUZZFEED) and I put a drop of it in my hair before drying. My head looked like the Fourth of July as sparks rained down on me from the sections of hair that were touching the brush. After 20 minutes of giving it the old college try, I threw in the towel and pulled out my trusty blow torch to finish drying my hair. My curly haired friends, do not allow yourself to hope that this dryer will change your life. I cannot bare to think of my sisters having their hearts broken as I have. I still give it four stars because it worked wonders on my daughter's perfectly straight blonde locks, so I guess it will work if you do not look as though you are a direct descendent of the king of all kings (Mufasa, in case you aren't cultured enough to know who the king of all kings is). Now I guess for the foreseeable future my 6 year old will have beautiful, salon quality blowouts whilst I am left crying into my super sized bottle of mega hold hair gel.

This hot air brush is a game changer. If you have trouble maneuvering a round brush and hair dryer I recommend this heat styling combo. It's very light, the heat/speed combo is perfect to blow out your hair without blowing it all over the place. If you have a lot of hair, let it air dry for a bit to cut down on styling time. I have silver hair which has a life of it's own and is very frizzy and dry. My new routine with this air brush is to apply Frizz Ease while hair is soaking wet in the shower, put hair into a turban for about 30 minutes, comb, add a bit of thermal spray and root boost, and air brush. Not a hair out of place!

4.0 out of 5 stars Pricey but gets the job done

This is the third one of these that I have bought and I have another on the way as a back up.
That tells you how pleased I am with it but it also reflects one concern.

My hair is thin but with highlights which adds volume
My hair takes a long time to dry
It's length varies between the bottom of my ears and my shoulders and I usually have bangs

They recommend and I agree that it works best when your hair is about 80% dry.
I towel dry my hair, comb it out and dry just my bangs on high heat with it. Then I go do other stuff until it's drier. I have on occasion dried it all after towel drying but it takes a fair bit of time.

I like it because it is easy and I end up with frizz free ( or at least minimal ) softly flipped under hair, with even the back finished and smooth that looks almost as good as when I have just left the hairdressers. I bought the 1.5 inch barrel.
I am not good with a blower and a brush and the acrobatics of that process drive me crazy.
I have looked at and even bought other brands and to be blunt they sucked. Too heavy, too long, wrong barrel size, flimsy and/or sparse bristled and I have no desire for one that spins.

What don't I like?
It's pricey and they don't last as long as I think they should especially given the price. Other brands are comparable in price by the way but the "extra" one I have ordered is coming from the US and even with fx exchange and duty it's cheaper.
I ordered a spare because that's how much I like this air brush and how much I don't want to be without it when it dies. First one lasted less than a year and the second one has lasted about three years to put it in perspective for you.

This one has a different plug from my previous ones. It's got a fuse blowing safety feature of some kind. Not sure if it's to avoid a home breaker blowing or if it shuts down the air brush if it gets overheated. This change may help
it's longevity but there is nothing in the manual that refers to it. There are reset instructions taped to the plug.

One other thing This new plug is much longer than a normal plug - see pic - and I can only use it in the lower outlet if I want to use both outlets. So consider where you are going to plug it in and what else you may have plugged in

3.0 out of 5 stars Wanted to LOVE this product!

To start, I have rather fine curly hair and read loads of reviews on different hot brushes and this one was the top of list suited for fine/thin hair. I bought this for a recent trip to Europe and got it right before I was to fly out. To note, I did have to use a converter with this, but don't recommend it because it appears to be too much voltage - see pic above of heat marks!

Normally I straighten my hair with a blowdryer and round brush, which is a pain hence why I looked for a hot brush. I have to say, it worked amazing when I was in Europe. My hair stayed straight and had amazing body! BUT, once back on Canadian soil.....the love affair was lost. Firstly, it just wasn't powerful enough; I suppose using the converter gave it a bit more life....explains the heat marks. Secondly, some of the bristles fell out only after 3 weeks of use and lost their shape. Perhaps there is some user error here, who knows.

I would still recommend this product as results of course will vary and maybe it just wasn't the right brush for me. The product overall is lightweight and comfortable to hold. For anyone that is considering a purchase, just keep the packaging for a bit just in case you want to return it.
